Picked up my baby for 6800 with 36,000 (essentially brand new). The previous owner wanted 75 hundred but we were able to compromise. Since then I've put roughly 3 grand into her since she was purchased in July.

1991 Z28. TPI350 auto tranny with 176k miles. $500 plus $300 for tranny rebuild. Has a kinda cool story. I bought it from the original owner. He worked at the Van Nuys assembly plant and walked this car down the line. When the plant closed he took a job at the Kansas City GM plant. Drove the car to Kansas and it was his daily driver until the front seal went out of the tranny.
He told me that the hood was installed in 92. He took it in for a oil change and they didn't get the hood latched. It flew up and broke the windshield and put a big dent in the roof (can see the bondo above windshield on the drivers side in pic below). Destroyed the original hood too of course. Before I bought it the Z it sat for 2 years in his driveway with a puddle of tranny fluid running out from under it. I bought it for the motor to put in my 85 T/A (ended up selling the T/A). After seeing it and hearing the story didn't have the heart to tear the Z28 apart either so it sat in the barn for a year before I finally got a chance to mess with it. It is my daily driver now. Will slowly fix it up. Chevelle is done, so needed another hotrod project

1984 trans am tops.. optioned out for the most part. I bought it with a bad trans and a 1970 lt1 in it. I got it for $500 buck and got another $600 into it now. I plan on painting it this summer. so add another $300 to the price. I honestly wish I had gotten the car before it was molested. I have all the paper work for the car and it only has a true 70k on it. Sad what some people think is the right thing to do.

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...
It's still evolving. It has IROC tail lights now (the GTA ones were delaminating and needed replacing), the Decepticon emblem is gone, the front has been lowered by 2" (had 5.7L convertible springs in it, swapped them for V6 springs, helped immensely and made the ride softer), polished the TPI to a mirror finish, and built custom 4th gen door panels with speakers in the lower front corners of the doors. The hood is going to be replaced with an 82-84 Z28 hood, not sure how to do the stripes with the cutouts yet. Also debating adding white hockey stripes to the sides. The wheels are being exchanged for Cragar Quick Tricks. Oh, and the fender and nose emblems are from a '68 Camaro, not a 2nd gen. I'm going to put the large rear panel "Z/28" from a 68 in place of the Chevy emblem and grey 3rd gen Z28 as soon as I get my hands on one. The license plate cutout is also going to be plastic welded in to look more professional, it's just riveted in for now. This summer is going to be paint...no idea on color for now, it looks good in the Brandywine with the white striping, but I'm up for suggestions...JUST NO ORANGE. It was tangerine when I bought it and it was H-O-R-R-I-D. I have my '88 IROC LB9 to work on also, so have to do things little by little when I can. Doesn't help that my wife uses my Z/28 daily as the babymobile either, and leaves me with my '88 MR2 as my daily driver.

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...
This is a real nice thread to look thru... Kinda makes me sick seeing how much people paid for there cars
Traded in a 73 454 vette for mine back in APR86, was a tad over 18,000 dollars new. Never had any problems with it, other than something I did and didnt like
Well, there paint did suck. GM didnt send a recall out on that, found out 7 years in, RC was only good for 6.
Changed the speedo out from the start, turned it back a bunch of times. Gotta be pushing over 400,000 miles I think
This is how she sits now

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...
I've thought about putting a duck tail back on it, but I kinda like the Firebird wing. I don't think it clashes with the car's lines anymore than the 91-92 low / high Camaro wings do, much less so IMHO. I really haven't decided the final look of the car yet, it's constantly evolving as I work on it more and more. As for appearance, my IROC-Z is going to be RPO correct, so my Z/28 is my car to experiment with.

$1500 its in great shape, Has new GM fenders on both sides and new Quarter panels that were done professionally. Car runs well and interior is in great shape other then the rip in driver seat. Has brand new eibach lowering springs and the wheels were re-faced. Also has Iroc tail lights and a billet grill for the front. The guy threw in a new weather striping kit too.

The door panels are mint, the pass side one is in the trunk. it needs a lock and a door handle rod so the guy left the panel off. The horn cover is a GMC cover from a jimmy or something. and yes the "stop" sticker is from K&N. I haven't seen a third gen in a junk yard ever. lol, not very common around here.
