Gifted from my father. I am a few bucks into it now... Rebuilt L98, new paint etc. Lots of memories, I'll never part with it.

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...
Some people have got some great steals on here that's for sure. I bought mine for $800 last August. All it need was slave cylinder and radiator cap. Took it up and down the road a few times then shattered a few teeth on the ring getting on it around a gravely turn. Once we parked it we noticed the trans mount and torque arm bushing were shot too. 1974 Sbc needed a tune up, so I tore it down. Hope to have it on the road late May early June. Ford guy that has fallen in love with this bird.

I paid $2500, although the DOL thinks I paid $200...
I think since then, I've probably got around five grand (including a lot of things I haven't installed, like all my interior stuff. And I've had it painted twice!

$880 didn't come with headlight bar or hood hinges but ask body work just done and interior mint. Minor performance to motor.

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...
$2000 in November 2011. She was sitting in a storage shed for 6-7 years, parked there by the original owner who thought it had a bad motor. Turns out it was only the head gasket. While everything was apart, I installed an LT4 hot cam, did some port/polish work on the heads and installed heddman headers and y-pipe. She is showing 51,118 miles on the odometer

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...
its not a fast car by any means, but I have seen crossfire corvettes that are mean as hell. The reliability issues are so bs, people are always griping about the tb's getting out of sync but that's really not a difficult fix. I did mine and I didn't even have a crossfire service manual.
Only thing I have against crossfire is the rearend honestly, you can really open these up if you have the patience. Induction design is great for torque and fuel economy, the exhaust is weak though and the intake is restrictive.
Simple fixes really. I just haven't gotten around to much of it.

haha amen to that! wish mine was a HO 5 speed personally, but I don't think I'll ever give my CFI up (I'm not a fan of it personally, but I'm not gonna be another jerk who rips his original 305 out for a carbed 350.) How many miles on yours?

Paid $1000 for it in Feb. with no engine, it was a factory 305 tbi 5 speed car, previous owner had a carbed 383 in it, I feel like I over paid, i looked at running cars in the same price range, but 5 speed cars are hard to come by around here and I wanted it

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...
I paid 1100 for mine this is how she sat the day I brought her home (upside down z28 emblem and all!)

At 1100 the interior wasn't in great shape, it had a running 305 and working T5 in it, but you could tell the engine was tired. Actual mileage unknown but the seller claimed it sat in a garage for the past 10 years. The motor showed signs of some problems when I bought it that ended up simply being a fuel pump leaking and not delivering enough gas. I replaced the fuel pump, water pump, and power steering pump right after buying it and drove it on that 305 for about a year and half before I replaced the engine.
Now 2 1/2 years and about ~12k later, she doesn't look a whole lot different from the outside, but the body is about the only thing that I haven't done work to and changed lol:

That pic doesn't show the new suspension which lowered the car a little, this pic isn't as good because she needs a bath, but shows how it sits with the new suspension at least:

~12k includes a rebuilt performance motor, T56 tranny, completely redone interior, all new sport suspension, reconditioned to look new iroc wheels + the best street performance tires for them that I could find, new 3" straight pipe exhaust flow master muffler and hooker headers, and lots of other misc stuff.

It amazing how price's continue to rise with these kind of cars. Hard to believe you could have bought a brand new GTA in the 80's for 20k. When i was looking at the new camaro's in Canada with 40k in your pocket you couldn't even look at the SS . Now i see guys picking up these sweet third gens for peanuts now. Crazy.

Not to say that the basic premise, that is, a fuel injected version of the old crossram Z28 intake itself isn't a novel idea, it was just poorly executed with a horribly timed release. US cars were still in the clutches of the smog era, hp numbers across the board were abysmal, and it was simply too complicated of a system for too little performance gain. Had it been released later, with a more potent cam and engine tune, later and more accurate engine control electronics, and better fuel hose routing, the Crossfire may have been the dominant EFI system and negated the existence of the TPI, or at least delayed its inception. A ported and polished Crossfire with an aftermarket programmable ECM such as Megasquirt, a wideband O2 providing real time feedback and autotuning capability, a properly matched camshaft, Vortec heads or aftermarket, headers and unrestricted exhaust, and you could could have an impressively powerful and efficient setup.

Bought it from the original owner with all paper work, receipts, 87 service manual, owners manual, etc. 87 GTA bone stock with the digital dash and 3.27 rear with tags still attached and clearly readable. Zero rust and original FL car. Ran a CarFax and no accidents and passed emissions every year.
Paid $700. Sat for roughly 7 years so it's since got a new fuel tank, pump, sending unit. Top end freshened and now putting in Bosch III injectors and she'll be ready to fire. Also interior is all new. Tons more about this car as well.

Bought it from a guy a year and a half ago cuz his ex gf (who drove it) cheated on him and he wanted it gone. Paid $500. Twist to the story: guy she cheated with was a co worker.

Ya I wish I could somehow salvage the paint but the paint shops laughed at me when I asked them about it. Oh well. And yeah the guy she cheated with worked at the shop with me. I didnt know it was him for about 4 months though because I never brought it to work in that time. And sadly thats not just a dent. The B-pillar was moved in 9 inches measured from the top of the door line on the b pillar. Door and Fender replaced and B-pillar all fixed now
