Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...
Hey, I payed $1675 in 2009 for mine! It had 156000 miles on it, but looks pretty good except for the front nose. I've probably put that much or more into the car doing little stuff over the last year. Glass T-Tops, fenders, shocks, tires...etc!
First pic is the day I brought it home, second pic is from last month. Not many changes on the outside of the car but it is a work in progress!!

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...
I would say people are still finding some pretty good deals out there. However, in general it seem slike the prices are ticking up for the clean ones..
I paid $2800 for my IROC January 2009 and put about $500 into it for a new stereo, having the drivers seat recovered and having a few small things fixed (brake light was always on, check engine light)..
1988 IROC 5.7 litre with 105,000 original miles, original paint (always garaged), no rust anywhere (the underside looks perfect), new exhaust system and new tires, overall the car is in excellent condition.

Ive toyed with the idea of removing them but they almost look original to the car! It was a one owner car so Im guessing he put them on sometime early in the cars life. When/if I repaint the car I will remove them for sure.

Paid $2k for the '84 about 3 1/2 years ago with system, new paint and rebuilt motor.

Paid $300 for the '91Z off Craigslist a few months ago. Needs pretty much everything, but it's a great start.

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...
I just picked up my iroc about 3weeks ago for 4k, bodys in great shape with only minimal rust. almost everything has been replaced or rebuilt and has around 500miles on them otherwise the car has 69K on it. and yes it is an original 350 car. all that it needs is just a lil up keep such as new dash pad and console lid, then the seats need to be recovered but i got a set of 97-02 camaro leather seats i might go with.

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...
Paid about $5000 for my car about a year and a half ago.
It´s a 1989 RS with 305 TBI and automatic transmission.

I live in europe where thirdgens aren´t as easily obtainable as in the US as it seems. Prices recently rise to the $10 000 mark for a decent F-body with a good working tranny, clean exterior and either 305 or 350 in the VIN.
So far I invested another $2000 in parts, and another $2000 (mostly suspension) planned for next year.

Paid $850 for this. It's a little bit worse on the floors with a few holes, but nothing that can't be fixed.

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...
I traded a built 87 suzuki samurai about 5 months ago for my thirdgen. The guy wanted $4500 or trade. It's an 86 sport coupe. California car just over 70,000 miles on it, 4000 on drivetrain. Built 355 around 450 HP, WC T5 with centerforce clutch, 373's with a Detroit locker. No rear defrost, ac and heat delete. Clean solid car. No rust anywhere. Still has the original stereo, tape deck. Only bad thing is it was painted maui blue and it has a ford hood scoop. It will have a cowl hood and be painted the original color gunmetal gray next year. The door jambs and under hood and hatch are still gray.

My 85 Z28 350 TPI, paid $1500.00 for it. Car has 132k on it, motor and trans around 40k. Needs a paint job but that will be done in the summer. Been moding it out starting from the ground up. Over $2000.00 in suspension mods, not including the rims or tires. Still tons more to do....

And now this is how she sits

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...
Unfortunately I didn't take any pics when I first bought it. It didn't run when I bought it,and the guy that owned it didn't know what was wrong with it. It was in rust free condition, with 104 K on it ,and had the 5-speed and T-tops I wanted,so I got it. Turns out the VATS system was screwed up.When I got it running,it drove and shifted great!
Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...
I was curious to know if anyone on here might have some info on a 1990 RS Vert V8 5.0??? I know only 729 was built that year, but I was curious to know if anyone knows how many are actually in existance today??? If so what would be the price on one of these V8 RS Verts? I have not found many RS online that are actually V8, but I know the 1990 Iroc's are very expensive, bc it was the last year, and the Iroc and RS for 1990 was the only year model to come out with the new interior.

Hagerty is an insurance company, and has nothing to do with your current policy holder. In order to insure through Hagerty, you must have a primary car insured through another carrier, and show Hagerty the policy on the primary car. Hagerty will then insure your second car , ie your Camaro, if it meets their other qualifications. Give them a call, they are a great company. I'll PM you with my phone number if you want.

I paid $4,000 for my 1988 IROC-Z 350. It's been almost 2 years since I bought it and I can tell you I've spent more for performance stuff than general maintenance which it hasn't been too bad in. About $3k in parts/labor would be a good number for me.

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...
I paid 2900 for mine, 85 firebird 305/T5 with 175 000 kilometers. Recent paint job but has 2 little paint bubbles by rear wheel and getting a tiny bit of rust coming through on the rocker's... After I bought it I took a magnet to the rockers and thier mostly bondo, but for some reason the floor pans are solid, almost no rust whatsoever
It needed/needs headliner (fixed), seats, and hatch area carpet. Clean cars usually fetch 5K+ here.

As bought in 2007 for $1000. 86 Z28 carb'd with a 5-speed. Since parted out, was a rust bucket.

As bought in 2008 for $600. 85 Z28 TPI. A future project, it's been sitting under a cover since.

As bought in 2009 for $300. 88 IROC 350 TPI shell. Parts from the 86 are being used to bring it back to life.

About $17K for the black one 21.5 years ago (new in 1989) and $3300 for the white one 2.5 years ago in 2008. Of course, the white one has gotten lots of elbow grease and cash thrown at it.
