I'm using GM Performance valve covers:

I just bought a set of vortec heads, so now I've got to decide if I want to cough up the $100 for adapters, or buy centerbolt covers.

AutoZone covers (I think) they were a birthday gift so I'm not sure where they came from. But they're basically the stock covers in chrome.

I like them, they're shiny but not too gaudy.

Not a great pictures, but they are Moroso tall, blue anodized covers, with blue wing-nuts.

I used to run the plain tall Moroso ones with no design or anything, I now run some Holley Valve covers, that are silver now and I'm gonna sandblast, paint black, and then sand down the top to a silver, sort of the way you'll see some of the old M/T covers.

My favorite are still the Black/silver M/T ones though, I love those on any engine.

They definately aren't cheap. I think I paid $200 for them. They were worth every penny. They're light weight and extremely rigid. I especially liked that they came without any holes cut in them, so I could cut my own. That way I don't have some big ugly oil fill hole right in the way. I just cut a PCV hole in one, and the fresh air hole in the other.

Here's a pic of the engine bay after I finished cleaning things up. Here you can see the PCV line installed:

Eh, I guess you still can't really see the PCV, but then again, that was intentional. By using valve covers that require you to cut your own holes, you can put them anywhere you want. I moved the PCV hole to the back of the valve cover so that you keep a clean, uncluttered look up front.

I soooo much love how mine looks with my new crinkle black valve covers!

I actually need to take a new pic this weekend because I changed out the radiator hose to a better one this past saturday.

You can also see my great new overflow tank in the lower part of this pic

Jim85IROc do you mean that you installed pcv valve in rear boss on top of valve cover or actually in the rear of the cover? I have the same valve cover and need to cut out the holes....

THe PCV valve is on top of the valve cover, but toward the rear. In the pic, it's obscured by the strut tower bar. These covers are so tall, that I'll bet you could put the PCV valve on the rear of the valve cover without any problems as long as it didn't interfere with the firewall.

She's almost done. The only trouble I'm having is the power post on the back of the alt hitting the DS valve cover. I'm going to shorten the post and use a thinner nut.

Let me know if you find a combo to make that tight clearance problem work. I tried to use a set of fab aluminum centerbolts on mine and had the same problem, but nothing I did could make enough clearance. So switched to billet ballmilled, but would still like to go back.

Yes, after it ripped the power steering pump off, I switched over to v-belt, since I only needed the PS pump, and alternator.

You can check it out at Brandons, I probably won't take pictures of it before that.

Had the same problem with my Brodix covers. I just took the alternator apart, and spun the case to where it fit best.

Noticed your valve covers. Did you have trouble installing them? My 86 305 has a lot in the way? Thank you.

Circuit Rider, no troubles after I took Brutal's advice and "clocked" my alt. Now the covers don't hit. Without doing that the post on the back hits the cover.

I'll try and get some pics up of my new valvecovers...they aren't on the car as I'm waiting to get headers installed so I don't end up scratching them.

I bought them off ebay like 2 years ago. They were $50. they are black crinkle-finished Camaro valvecovers. the fins on top are not painted and aluminum-colored, and in the middle of each one there is a rectangle with CAMARO in the middle. I liked em, so I got em. I'll put up pics later on.
