preferences please on wheels?

hey guys, Ive been throwin around the idea of getting new wheels for a while. My 86 ta came with some 15 inch aftermarkets that I dont especially like. On a sunset orange metallic (prowler orange) trans am with a ram air hood and 4th gen spoiler, which wheels do you think would look best. TTII are more than I can really afford at this moment but I was thinking about OE concept Z06 wheels, ZR1 (black or silver), C5 five spoke or gta rims (gold or black?) thanks for the preferences guys just kinda throwin the idea around

Z06 in silver, or a painted magnesium color. Anything will be a big step up over the 15' trailer wheels. Good luck !

American Racing 200s, in 17s. You can get them for like 260 per wheel, which isnt bad at all, considering you wont need to buy spacers like you will with z06s, c5s etc. 17x9.5 and 17x8 would be killer. Here is a pic.

You probably won't like 16" GTA rims then since they are pretty much a 15" rim with an extra/extended lip. ZO6 rims I think are best on camaros, but do what you want. I think silver ZR1's would go well with your car.

I'm not sure if this car is the same color as yours but its similar. Just to give you an idea about black zr1's. I know its not a thirdgen too.

well, id say a set of ROH Snypers, they are one of my favorites, or the sportmax racing 962's, 17x8's up front, 17x9.5's out back....they look pretty

GOOD JOB stay away from the BLACK motif...its a trend that needs to end worse than chrome...i would suggest trying to find some Ronal firehawk 17" rims or even a set of GTA rims in the color of your choice...try to find something new ...it seems like everyone has ROH snypers, Z06 wheels, or zr1s...find something not everyone has and make sure they have a nice lip PLZ

honestly id recommend some ws6 wheels the newer transam have i dont know the exact name...but they are 17" and would look pretty nice on a TG

I saw those the other day and really liked them actually (ws6) I did not know that they made them in a 17inch so I never had really thought about them that much, those and gta's are really sparking my int. because they are so cheap!

Another thing to consider about the GTA rims is that they are probably the hardest rim to clean especially compared to a 5 spoke rim. Ronal R15's(firehawks) are heavy. I have heard 4th gen WS6 rims (except the Black '02 CE, Blue '99 30th Anniv., White '95 25th Anniv.) are only available in polished aluminum. The bad thing about C5 Y2K's, C5 ZO6's, 35th SS's, C6's and probably C6 ZO6's is that they all have huge centercaps than can easily be ripped off(like anyone would but just saying). If this is a daily driver get rims that are all the same size so you can rotate the tires. All rims mentioned are nice, I'm just pointing out the cons. If you like something, you put up with the little things about it, like T-tops for example. Then again stuff like that might not even bother you at all. It wouldn't stop me if I had a favorite. Download pics of thirdgens with these rims, compare them, and pick the one you think is best for you. Then maybe put a custom touch on them or spend the extra $$$ for a rim that no one has yet.

firebat is right about the GTA wheels! they SUCK to clean. so how do the center caps go onto the z06's? are they easily ripped off? i never thought about that

that is true about the gta rims, which ones would weigh the least? I would think the new ws6 rims wouldnt weigh too much. Im fine with polished aluminum I think they actually look great! (I def. dont want too much bling) I also like how getting used wheels from corvettes and ws6 are alot cheaper : ) haha

I think mickey thompson came out with drag wheels and tires, all the way up to 18". I would imagine those would be the lightest rims. I think i seen it in car craft magazine.
