shaker hood????

While looking at decals on the hawks third gen webpage I found this picture of a 2nd gen trans am shaker hood on a third gen firebird. I have never seen a hood like this on a third gen, and didnt think they were ever made. I am a huge fan of the shaker hood but never dreamed I could have one on my formula. Is it possible that I could purchase a hood like this or is it a one of a kind???

That is really sweet, but you have to have the hood bird to make it all work. Hopefully your car is black and will do a gold bird like = BANDIT!!!!

it's custom made, do a search there's actually 1 member doing it to his car right now and documenting the process.

And i agree with a black car and gold bird it would be sweet.

I think the black and gold bandit idea would be awesome, but i doubt that i will ever be able to make a custom hood like that. I was hoping that i could buy one already made. I have actually been thinking about buy a second gen trans am. I have always liked the second gen body style better, but I have realized that I am too attached to my 89 formula to ever sell it as it is my first car.

There was a company in the early 90s that did Bandit conversions. They used a bolt on, non-functioning shaker.

if im not mistaken the company went by the name "Choo Choo Customs". they didnt produce many of them and they were really just appearance options, nothing an individual couldnt have done on there own. They are really hard to come by, and most owners dont want to sell them. As far as black and gold goes......lets leave the gold back in the 70's. I think black and red car with the red phoenix would look great. or blue and white.

I'm going to the yard this weekend to grab a scoop off a busted up 79 TA. I'm going to do the same mod to my 89 TA.

damn those look good. I never thought I'd be so eager to chop up the hood on my new 89 TA. If I didn't like the turbo buldge hood so much I'd do it to my 84 too.

i especially like that black TA. If i do this project i would probably buy a regular firebird hood though. Thanks for the awesome pics mnformula350.
