I'm a newbie and I want to know how to detail a car or any tips or good products to get. I have an all black 89 camaro. Any help would mean a lot thanks

Zaino Brothers is great stuff. It's somewhat pricy if you use it a lot. I'd say claybar your car, and put the Zaino Bros products on. They have different steps. Also, if you're going to detail your car, gel your tires. I hate it when I see a really clean car and the person didn't gel their tires, or clean there wheel wells. Maybe i'm just picky though.

The products you choose are much less important than the techniques you learn and use.

And don't use a brush on a black car! It will swirl like crazy. I recommend some sort of pressure washer if you have the means. Check out the Turbo Wash
TURBOWASH ®
It's only about $15 and will greatly reduce the number of swirls. I always use it on my car. And a microfiber sponge is great for washing off the tough stuff that the Turbo Wash can't remove.

Iwould not worry if you dont have a pressure washer. You can get great results with a garden hose. Use a clay bar to get rid of contaminants, then wax.

this weekend i was cleaning my car up a bit and cleaned out the engine compartment. just took some degreaser and sprayed it all over in the engine compartment, took a hose with hot water and sprayed it down (i dont recomend using a pressure washer on this! could damage gaskets) then take some tire shine or rubber dressing and spray down all things rubber, plastic or black! youll be suprised what a few mins of work will do! and if you have a tpi car get some mothers mag polish and hit up your runners with that and a rag and they look like you spent days taking them off and polishing them!
