A friendly reminder

I figured I would put this here...

A friendly reminder to all, having a fire extinguisher in your car is an absolute MUST!!

Its the difference between putting out a tiny little fire that burned a few spark plug wires or having your whole car go up in flames.

20 bucks can save you a lot of grief.

Fire extinguishers? They're at almost every department store. I always have one handy- I guess being a former firefighter will do that

Im speaking from expeirence.

I was in my garage, after I installed my intake manifold. well I had a little timing miss hap and the engine bay exploded with a flame. I got out of the car ran like all hell into the kitchen got the fire extinguisher jumped down the flight of stairs pulling the pin in the air ran into the garage aimed and sprayed. Nothing came out.. I threw the fire extinguisher down to the ground ran out side used the hose *with miracle grow attachment*

If I had a fire extinguisher in the car or garage my car would be running right now. I think it took less then 30 sec to run out side and back into the house getting the fire extinguisher and throwing it down. and about 2 min un raveling the hose, turning it on and going into the garage because i was tired from hualing ***

so check your fire extinguishers and get ones for ur car and garage

I wholeheartedly agree. I almost lost my GTO to fire once, and my garage with it. Terrifying experience, and you never see it coming.

ABSOLUTELY! I carry one in every car we drive. I've had the chance to keep two of my own from burning up, and been able to assist another driver whose car would have burned to a crisp without the help.

You literally never know, and it's a great insurance policy for $20 or so ...

Have one mounted vertically on the passenger side of my center console, it fits real nice and even looks like it belongs there. Haven't had the need to use it (thankfully), but it's a comfort to know it's there when I do. I just do the periodic check per instruction and make sure it still has pressure.

Well, sadly enough I didnt have one with me, but that will be changing ASAP.

I was VERY lucky to have a passerby stop and he had one. If he hadnt, My car would be no more.

Its a long story, but basically I had some wire wrap that couldnt handle high temps melt onto my header and catch fire. Which in turned caught a couple of my plug wires on fire. About 2-3 minutes more and my car would have been in bad shape.

Basically I am walking away with needing a few new plug wires and a new fan switch sensor.

Its really a cheap thing to have in your car, please please please get one and keep in in your trunk or behind your seat. You never know when your going to need it, and hopefully you never do. But that one time you need it and you dont have it.... you will be kicking yourself for it.

I was very lucky to have had someone driving by who had one, and man... I owe that guy bigtime!!

Yeah same here! I was installing a 400turbo trany, and When I was welding the braket up..it went up into flames(damn leafs). All I had to do is open the car door and spray. lol, The funney part was that my friend was in the cross fire. But it is a nice investment. With out it I probley would not have a car right now.

They make them in colors other than red, too, including nice shiny chrome, so you have choice as to what kind best fits your interior.
