CRAPPY stock 15" firebird wheels

I don't know if it's just me or what, but there is no way in hell to get the clearcoat on these wheels shiny. no matter what I do to it, the clearcoat hazes and leaves bad watermarks. I've tried using a dozen different wheel cleaners, even a polish that is supposed to work on clearcoats-nothing works. Is there anything you guys have done to fix this problem (other than new wheels)? Also, I heard something about stripping off the clearcoat, does this work at all?

thanks,
Brandon

One day when i was washing my tires on my old 88 with the same wheels as you're talking about, I spilled my Armour all tire cleaner on the wheel. I wiped it up with a rag and voila...just like that, shiny wheels.

So although it is a very unprofessional thing to do, use some armour all on those bad boys and make em shine!

i found that if u have damaged, chipped, or stained wheels that a careful application of acitone works wonders. All u do is jsut put a little on the rag, wipe down the wheel (not scrub!) and there ya go. Mkaes ur wheels look brand new...
