As the title says, I have a 5.7 badge from the LS1 GTO. I was wondering if anybody has any pics of it on their third gen. I was gonna put this on my 99 Z28 but it got wrecked before I had the oppurtunity. I dont have a 5.7 in it yet, but its not a "Trans AM" neither. Any help/ links/ pics would be great.

Alot of people on here are not for re-badgeing and I really am not for it eather. But on this one FIRST I will ask why? But It's your car do what ever you like to it try it if you dont like rip it off.

 

I guess if it just says 5.7 it wouldnt be too bad but if it says GTO on it Thats pretty retarded I think

Yea. The GTO Ones just say 5.7 on it. They dont say GTO. It could look pretty good if put in the proper spot and like above, if you dont like.. you can always remove it.

 

I like them about as much as I like 4th gen Trans AM emblems on 3rd gens.

the way i see it is that LESS IS MORE..... let them find out you have a 5.7 when you throw down over 300 foot pounds of torque and rip off the line.... then again i do have a big 350 sicker down my doors... :P

 

I figured everyody would know what Im talking about. It is a badge on the rear of the car that says "5.7". No GTO, no V8, just 5.7. Im not trying too fool anybody on it being a GTO. Im wanting to put it on the bumper when I do my engine swap. Im going for a 350 SBC or possibly an LS1. Ive seen the badge on 4th gens and thats why I bought it. Then my 4th gen got wrecked so here I am.

 

When I swapped to my 350 HO Deluxe, I had a print shop make decals for the rockers and rear bumper (just throwing out an option) for a stock look:

While I usually like debadged cars, I can dig cars with a few select emblems placed in the right places.

Some cars just go overboard with emblems and stickers (even some from the factory) I'm defenitly have a less is more attitude.

With that said, if you have a 350 under the hood I think that emblem would look pretty cool. Not before the motor swap though...adding that emblem should be the christening right when the swap is completed.

 

wow, after seeing the badge, i dont think it would fit right with the style of a thirdgen.
im not saying you shouldnt do it, if you like it by all means go and do it. but i think it just doesnt flow, it interupts the lines.

I agree with that 100%. I already have the badge, thats why I want to try it. I am unsure if it would match as well, I think it would go best if it was the only badge on the car.

this is slightly off topic but does anyone know where to get an RS badge of the V-6 4th gens. i think up to 97 they had em'. My cars an RS but i don't like the stock badges, and plus i wanna mess with people and combine that badge with the SS badge from 4th gens and make my car an RS/SS, just cuz it sounds more beastly. lol

 

i don't know about you guys, but i'd rather see cubic inches than liters myself...i guess its the bigger number that gets me going, haha.

Yeah I agree, less is more. When I repaint my car, all my factory stickers are coming off.
