a few words of advice before you buy it..
1. always wait till the end of the month if they dont have anyone else on it and its not too risky. dealers are always trying to get their last few sales in to make the bonus for selling a certain amount of cars a month (my dads lot is like 70)
2. always hassle for lower prices but dont ***** about this that are wrong with it, cause they have a body shop that will fix it for nothing, and they just fix it the next day and say nothing is wrong, but they are charging you about 2,000 more then they paid for the car.
3. take a long time to look at the car, and ask to take it to a mechanic. make sure you check EVERY part of the car. if something is wrong, someplaces will ask the body shop guy to put the cheapest part possible in its place. i know, my dad used to buy cars other lots wholesaled that did this to him, and he had to replace A LOT.
well those are all i can think of for right now, common sense, but always helps. also they go by the "Black Book: Official car price guide" and by the other prices of lots around them, so since you know your **** you can prolly talk em a lot lower then 2 grand if you get the book and understand how it works and see what it says about the birds. if you want i can grab my dads and give u the price listings.
ne way those are my little tips, from the son of a used car lot manager, to a guy that loves f bodys
. oh ya.. always go to the lots with A LOT of cars. it seems like common sense, but some places have like 30 cars that look all nice, but are POS's. the bigger lots tend to have a lot of trucks and stuff you dont like, but rest asured that the ones you do like were taken to a shop that they own, so they work is good quality
. pe@ce bro, happy huntin!

Alas, it looks like i will not be getting a fast third gen for my first car. As a 17 year old, the insurance company hates me. I can't afford the insurance on a V8, i'll have to get a v6. My dad and i spent today looking around, and we found a nice 92 RS, Teal, just a little above our price range, but there's a chance... If that doesn't work, or we don't find another good Firebird or camaro at a cost we can afford, it looks like i'm very likely to end up with a Grand Am or something along those lines *sobs* I guess i'll have to wait until later to get that formula...

thats what i plan on doin. focusing all my cash into small suspenstion mods first. like a wonderbar, some new gas-a-just shocks, etc. then go all apearance. neons, overlays, seats, stereo etc. somewhere in the middle will be like a new hurst shifter or b&m ripper shifter, but im not gonna fool with the engine. maybe exhaust if anything. whats the point on a 6? hit 15s? bah that takes cash, not worth it with minimum wage. after i get my car running nice, i figure at like 17, 17 and a half, ill sell the bad boy on my dads lot, and grab a nice condition iroc, or one of those 2ng gen T/A 6.6L
then all performance from there
then all performance from there Trending Topics
if i had to do it all over again i would have bought a bike!! i have so many tickets it sucks. i might even lose my license again. its not that i drive crazy or fast its that i drive a young car. and i live outside of town. (15 min) and the sheriffs always see me and just pull me over for the crappiest things. i have been pulled over 12 times now in two years. and i have been issued 8 tickets but i went to school for one, paid three, and had the other 3 dismissed! well now i working on that last one i go to court on the 27th and this time it was in my d*mn S10. what kind of crap is this. they are out to get me.!!
so for now buy a bike or a station wagon. and wait till you turn 18 to buy a camaro. unless you can drive ALWAYS i mean ALWAYS atleast 5mph under the speed limit, and obey every law out there. all the time. they stick it to camaro/firebird owners soo bad its not funny! oh well. happy driving!
