i have a fake cowl for now, but the guy i got the car from had put it on...the bondo had cracked all the way down on both sides... so i sanded it all down, fixed it...here is before and after pics

 

That is one tiny cowl, but looks good none the less just make sure you get the hood painted.

yea....its a rattle can. it has to do for now. at least till i get my new hood or paint

 

Hood looks a lot better, but my eyes keep going to the foglights....you plan on keeping em like that or doing something different?

 

plan on losing that grill and getting an iroc one w/ the foglights that go w/ that.

 

its a 2 in. plan on getting 4 in. or ss hood (mostly ss hood) lol

 

So its a fake cowl, i got that much. Got any pics of the hood from the driver's angle? Did the last guy basically just make a mountain of bondo? Or can you actually get some clearance underneath? I like it alot, the smooth edge is different, ive never seen that before. Looks very factory!

yea i guess u could say he did that, it was a total disaster.. as for the driver angle, this is the best i got for now

Not bad- never much of a fan for cowl hoods but at least that one is subtle. A fresh coat of paint and little work with the grill and you're on your way.

 

So cliche BUT size does matter

 

Nice. It has a subtle look. The big ones are overkill.

 

unless you need them...

 

You know, a few minutes with a die grinder will make that cowl functional.

Looks great until you get to the back of the scoop. Im used to seeing the scoop be extended past where the back of the hood is.

 

i know what u mean, but as i said, this is a temp fix untill i can get a job and some $$ to get my big block or ss hood

 

Looks good. Yeah...I think it should have been a bigger cowl though. Why would someone go with a 2 inch cowl to begin with unless it is given to them?

 

My dad's Chevelle SS has a hood that looks almost identical, just an inch higher. Looks good!

 

wow, you saved that hood. wouldn't recongize it from the before pic.

if the cowl extended to the edge of the windshield area it'd be perfect.

 

Looks good. I like the smaller cowl hoods. If its you DD or weekend cruiser thats all you need. I wouldnt go bigger than a 2" or 3" unless it was strictly a race car. Just my opinion.

 

Dont cut a hole in the hood to make it functional. The hoods flex enough as it is and will crack bondo you dont need to make it weaker.
