there's a bunch of weight reduction threads. it costs some cash to make it that light for sure. At that weight I'm not sure you'll have much of anything left in the car...fyi mine is 3250 race weight and my only future options are lexan windows and taking out the passenger seat basically.

92RS(real slow) Joked about a treadmill, but if you happen to have some extra, and you are truely serious about pulling better times, that also helps.

I had a buddy find an extry 50Lbs on the old treadmill..
Works for other sports..
Note: This isn't a flame, just makes great since if you have it to lose.

Remove the carpet..
I guess I should ask if the car has to drive on the street..

Good point..
So I guess removing the tail lights and head lights are out of the question, unless you buy are red and white flash light.

FYI the doors are an important parts of your car's structure. So don't get too happy with that saw.

And if it's a street driven car then theres only so much you can do. Getting rid of the A/C and the back seats are the first things I think of.

loose the front and rear bumper supports and plastic.
fiberglass hood
aluminum heads
discard any unneeded parts under the hood(smog,A/C, evap, etc.)
get lightweight wheels
ditch the spare tire
ditch any power option like power windows and locks.
get lightweight carpet and loose the padding under it

theres more, I just cant think of them. Notice I didnt say ditch the stereo. thats up to you. You said you drive it on the street so I assume you want some tunes while driving. There a down side to loosing weight to acieve fast times at the track. Theres a thin called track safety rules and if you accomplish your goal and get your car running a lot quicker due to less weight then the track may tell you thatr you need a roll bar or roll cage along with a harness and driveshaft safety loop. those things add weight but you wont have a choice if your running 11's.

dont let me start
!air,!ac,!egr
remove the underpading of the carpet, spair tire, junk in the car, change ash trays, misc bolts you dont need. empty or remove windsheild washer fluid resevor lighter wheels(gta's are 17 pounds!)

go runing and eat right, thats right there is free or cheap..

if you wanted to get more into it, you can suffere looks by taking apart more of the interior and removing more creature comforts,

you can buy exhuast, suspension, heads, intakes etc etc that weigh less too!!

also if you use nitrous, go with a 10 bottle instead of two 5's

Get a Lexan hatch

I've had my hatch off by myself, and I KNOW it's gotta be 75-100 lbs.

chromoly k-member and a-arms. PA Racing makes a k-member and spohn makes a-arms.
ditch all your stock suspension for chromoly pieces. swaybars, lower control arms, panhard.
plastic gas tank out of a 4th Gen. I don't know if theres a difference, it was just a thought because I know people have put them in third gens with little trouble.

I'd check out hawks site, they have an aftermarket "notchback" made of fiberglass, i havent weighed my hatch but im sure you could loose some weight by switching that out. (i personally think their ugly, but i do like the factory notchbacks)
