exhaust exit
exhaust exit
i want some opions on what would look best. im putting on a new true duals, with headers and straight pipes. i bought these tips:
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
edit: the tips have no black on them they are solid chrome
and my car does not have the ground effects kit:
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/1851197
and i dont know how i want the exhuast to exit,
1.this summer i seen a sick dodge challebner with the same tips and they exited at a 45degree angle before each back tire and ive always liked that
2. or the same 45 degree angle right behind the back tires, like the silver monte carlo they built up on muscle car powerblock show.
3. or just normal straight out the back.

my true duals are dumped in front of the rear tires, but I don't have fancy exhaust tips, just dumped 1.5" before the ground effects end so the pipes aren't sticking out.

those tips are 11" long, not sure if they'd fit with the turn of my mandrel exhaust that I have. Best bet would be to check it all out under the car with an exhaust guy. Straight pipes will sound like a hillbilly 4x4 truck. Definately run the summit brand glasspack mufflers that are round and made out of steel or moroso spiralflow mufflers, either way it'll be loud.

i just got a dual/dual system put on with side exit tips infront of the rear tires, and on my 1989 formula 350 it looks gorgeous, compliments the lean look of a gfx-less body and sounds like a muscle car should. my vote for the sidepipes

it really sucks that you already bought the tips because you really limted your options. if you hadnt bought them yet you could have done a really nice side exit in front of the rear wheels or gone with the dual tips and run them out of the middle of the rear like the c5 zo6. with thos id say go straight dont turn those up or down. im also not a fan of turning them 45 to the side and down because to me they just llook like they're falling off of the car.
thats what im saying i think they look really good on the side, im not going to point them up or down or anything, they will be straight and level.
