Hiding front lights wires, the right way.

Today, I started install back my front lights harness (parking, fog, headlamps etc.) 1st of, I removed the old loom, removed any unwanted wires and cleaned them.

I then measured the lenght of the wires I was going to need to get them from the firewall connector to the headlights (Stock harness wasnt long enough, youll have to lenghten the wires). I chose to pass them thru the inner driver fender, following the frame to the front.

Passing the wires thru the fender will require a hole of 3/4" drilled in it, then place a grommet in the hole. I used a hole saw for a much cleaner job.

You can then start cutting and welding the new wires to the old harness. The harness needed to be 2 feet longer for my application. Once every wires were welded back together, I used heat shrink tubes over the welds and wrap them with all new loom.

Once the harness is done, you need to pull every terminals from the bulkhead firewall connector... so you can pass them thru the hole that you just made in the fender. The connector head is about 2" and the hole is 3/4". Once they're all thru the fender, put them back in the the connector.

Now you just have to route the harness to its new location. No more ugly wires messing the bay. You can do the same for the cruise control wires, washer hose etc etc. Since Im not using a cruise, washer fluid and all other crap, the only other thing I had left passing there was the hood latch cable. So I did the same for the cable. Here are some pics.

Nice ork, very much like what I did to the harness running along the passenger side fender and the framerail. I just lengthened and ran them inside the fender to the front where they needed to be. I gave serious thought to doing the drivers side but wasn't up to drilling the hole in the fender. seeing yours though may be enough to motivate me.
