Not bad, I don't like those hoods myself but its not my car. If you like the exterior, move on to the interior regardless of what others think, its your car.

Nice hood, is it metal and where did you get it, another question do you think it would look good on a red car?

pretty cool car, not a flame ,but if i owned the car i'd put a 91-92 front clip on it, however you may not like the ground effects.... anyhow, way to save a thirdgen!

DSAINT, THAT IS A ASCD FIBERGLASS HOOD. I BOUGHT IT FROM A JUNK YARD FOR $100.00. THEY ARE USUALLY ABOUT $550.00 WITH THE LOURVERS. IT WAS A DEEP RED WHEN I GOT IT. I DIDN'T REALLY LIKE IT AS I JUST BOUGHT A DEEP RED 89RS WITH EFFECTS AND I DON'T THINK IT WOULD LOOK GOOD ON A CAR WITH EFFECTS. YOU KNOW OVERKILL. JUST MY OPINION. IT MIGHT LOOK GOOD ON A REGULAR RED CAR. COLOR SEEMS TO BE THE BIG QUESTION ABOUT THIS HOOD. I GUESS IT IS PERSONAL PREFERENCE.

there is a guy with that hood on a red 1990 RS with CHROMED 85-87 rims. and i dont like it on red cars. too much shows about the hood. black hides so many things. that is why black is sooo awesome. i wish i could find a black IROC convt. 1990 305TPI/5spd. that is my dream. but i would have to do one h*ll of a search and i am happy with what i have now.
but IMO i dont like the hood except on black cars.

and do a search and look for daytona hood/ or turbo hood. you might be able to find it.

I think it looks great. I like the hood, it adds a mean attitude. If you don't mind me asking, how much have you spent getting it that nice since you bought it? It looks great, good job!

I AM AT ABOUT $8500.00. WHAT I DID WAS BUY MY WIFE A NEW BLAZER SO THEN SHE DIDN'T AND COULDN'T SAY TO MUCH TO ME. AMAN MUST HAVE HISTOYS. NOW I HAVE ANOTHER 3RD GEN THAT I GOT FOR $800.00. I GUESS I AM ADDICTED NOW. I OWNED A '69 PACECAR IN THE '70'S WHEN I WAS IN COLLEGE. YOU KNOW THE ONE WHITE DROP WITH HUGGER ORANGE STIPES. IT WAS STOLEN AND STRIPPED TO THE FRAME, SO WHEN I SAW THIS RAGGED OLD '86 I REALLY DIDN'T SEE A RAGGED OLD CAM. I SAW WHAT YOU SEE NOW. IT JUST TOOK SOME TIME AND MONEY BUT LIKE I SAID A MAN MUST HAVE HIS TOYS. COULD I HAVE BOUGHT A 4TH GEN NEW. SURE BUT THAT'S NO FUN, NOW IS IT.

THANKS REDTAIL AND KASTENKURTZ FOR THE COMPS. I GUESS SINCE I BOUGHT MY HOOD USED THE SCREENS WERE REMOVE. I AM GOING TO LOOK FOR REPLACEMENT SCREENS TODAY AT THE LOCAL HOME DEPOT STORE. THEY GOTTA HAVE SOME THERE. I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE G-EFFECTS THO. I MAY BE TOP HEAVY BUT I SEE SO MANY WITH G-EFFECTS I KINDA WANT TO BE DIFFERENT. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK? PLUS I AM SURE IT WILL COST CLOSE TO A GRAND TO ADD G-EFFECTS WITH PURCHASE AND PAINT. I THINK I WOULD LIKE TO USE THAT G UNDER THE HOOD OR ON THE INTERIOR. YOUR OPINION PLEASE.

I HAVE LOOKED AT THE HIGH RISE SPOILER AND IN FACT KNOW WHERE TO GET ONE. I WAS CONCERNERNED IT WOULD BE KINNDA TOO MUCH OR EVEN "RICE". WHAT DO YOU THINK?

UNDER THE HOOD IS A 305/5.0 WITH 4BBL CARB. RUNS PRETTY GOOD. I CHASE OFF ALL MUSTANGS BUT I DON'T MESS WITH THE NEW 4TH GENS. AT LEAST NOT YET. I DO HAVE TO DO SOME MODS. I AM GONNA PUT IN A CHIP AS SOON AS I LEARN MORE ABOUT WHAT IS THE RIGHT ONE FOR MY ENGINE. ANY HELP IN THAT DEPT. WOULD BE HELPFUL. IF ENGINE EVERY GOES I WOULD KEEP THE CAR AND IMMEDIATELY GO 5.7 BUT FOR NOW I AM STAYING 5.O BECAUSE I JUST BOUGHT A RS 89 THAT IS MY NEXT PROJECT. MY WIFE WILL NOT LET ME SELL THE FIRST BORN FOR 2 CARS SO I GOT TO GO SLOW.

ADDED NEW BACKGROUND TO WEB PAGE. IS IT KOOL OR TOO MUCH??

Looks good, it'd look even better if you had some ground effects on that car...

BTW, you seem to have a problem with the "Caps Lock" key....look into that....no need to shout.

Sorry about the SHOUT, I am just lazy.

Since I bought this '89 RS I have my G effects fix. I kinda wish I could put some on the niterider to see if I would like it and if I don't take 'em off. Maybe somebody with Photoshop can show me on one of my pics. I'll do it if it looks good.

CHI TOWN- what part of town. I am South Subs. Where should I go to show off, cruise and make mustang owners jealous. Have full tank, will travel.

THAT SEEMS TO BE THE BIG QUESTION. SOME THINK RED WILL LOOK GOOD, SOME DON'T. IN MY CASE BLACK HAS THAT MEAN LOOK. WILL RED DRAW THE "BAD BOYZ" OR NOT. TRY PHOTOSHOPING MY CAR IN RED OR PUT MY HOOD ON YOUR CAR, THEN PHOTOSHOP THAT IN RED, IF POSSIBLE. I THINK THAT IF YOU LIKE IT AND THE COST IS GOOD, DO IT. IWAS ORIGINALLY GETTING EITHER A Z HOOD OR A SS HOOD BUT WHEN THE JUNKYARD DEAL CAME I HAD TO TAKE IT. I JUST DON'T PASS UP DEALS, I MODIFY MY PLANS.

COBRAKILLER1989 THAT RED CAR OF YOURS LOOKS GOOD TO ME WITH THE DAYTONA AND EFFECTS. SOME WILL NOT LIKE IT JUST AS SOME WILL NOT LIKE MINE. EVERYTHING IS PERSONAL PREFERENCE AND PERSONAL TASTE. DO YOU HAVE SCREENS IN YOUR HOLES AND WHAT COLOR ARE THEY?

Rare,
I understand that it is not your preference. my response was just a joke and i wanted to put up the pics so niterider could see it with GFX. NO hard feelings here. I like to hear people's opinions. Good or bad, i dont care, because i do what I like and thats what everyone else should do.

Niterider, thx for the compliment. And yes there is screens in the holes. they are like a silver color. I can try to get a close up for you and mail it to you, if you want

YOU KNOW GUYS YOU HAVE TO LOOK REALLY HARD TO FIND A UGLY THIRD GEN. SURE THERE WAS THAT YELLOW RICE LOOKING CAR POSTED ABOUT A MONTH AGO. EVEN THEN SOMEONE LIKED IT TOO. THIS IS A CLASSIC CAR BODY STYLE, LIKE THE FIRST GEN. HOODS AND SPOILERS AND G-EFFECTS ONLY ADD TO THE UNIQUENESS, THEY NEVER DISTRACT UNLESS DONE WITH NO TASTE.

You said you have the datona hood for a bird. "I have a 88 transam that just went to get painted black and i have the daytona hood also. Its the same as yours but without the camaro louvers.I think it looks good on camaros and even better on the birds." I didn't think they maid it for the bird. I know they have abs shells that you can custom fiberglass on the hood of whatever you want though. Is this what you did? If not where did you get the hood? I was thinking about doing this on my bird. I would love to see some pics if you could post some. Thanks.

hey niterider, you asked about your background
it looks to "busy". to much contrast from your text and background image. I brought that image into a graphic editor and faded it down abit. try this out on your page and see what you think. just right click on the image below.
also, keep up the good work on your site and your ride. take it easy!

Here is one of my 84 Berlinettas with a Daytona hood - no nose shot yet. This hood has the louvers...

Keep the other one and the selling price will be much more! If you like it don't let the nit wits try to convince you that it's bad. If I here the word 'rice' used in a way that is not edible, I am going to go ****ing nuts!!!!!!!!!!

I had one of those fiberglass Daytona "turbo"hoods on my 86 IROC and loved it.Unfortuneately I had the car painted a pearl "Lyme" green. It was about 9 years ago,(I was 20)and had to be one of those "got to be different phases"I was going through Whats worse is I kid you not,one of my best friends at the time got one for his white 90 mustangGT conv We ordered them the same time, out of the back of a HotRod magazine. If I ever saw an IROC with a Mustang hood on it,I'd beat the **** out of the owner.

black5.7ta, THAT'S FUNNY. I AGREE MUSTANGS DON'T DESERVE TO HAVE ANY F BODY PARTS ON THEM.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET THE SCREENS FOR THIS HOOD. BECAUSE I BOUGHT IT USED THE PREVIOUS OWNER REMOVED THE SCREENS. I THINK I WANT TO PUT THEM BACK IN AND PAINT THEM CHROME OR GOLD OR BLACK. I TRIED A HOME DEPOT BUT ALL THEY HAD WAS SCREENS FOR YOUR HOUSE. WOULD NOT LOOK GOOD WITH "FLY" SCREENING. HELP ME 3RD GEN.ORG GUYS.
