Jongbloed hoods for Firebirds?

Anybody where I could get one? Since Bambi decided my hood was in too good of shape on my GTA, she decided to make it look like a crumpled piece of paper. Oh well, that was the LAST thing she ever did...other than bounce about 30 feet!

Anyways, I wouldn't mind shedding some pounds on my porker of a car (4600 lbs!), and it's pretty much the only design I'd consider. I like the 4th gen style Ram Air hoods, but without the 2 lower openings, I'm not crazy about them.

So..any leads? G&T Fiberglass hasn't responded to my inquiry, from days ago.

why do you think your car is 4600lbs? I think you might be confused with the max weight of the car. that includes the car/passengers and cargo

would you happen to have a pic of the hood your looking for?

There is no way in heck your car weighs 4,600lbs unless you filled the interior with concrete. A heavy 3rd gen would be 3,600lbs.

OK...I was a bit off, in 2 ways...My mind remembered 4306lbs as 4603lbs. And, that IS the MAX weight loaded, not empty

Went and looked at my door decal...

GVWR-4306lbs
Vehicle Capacity Weight-701
GAWR FT-2202
GAWR RR-2104

So, 4306lbs (the max combined weight) minus the capacity (carrying)weight = 3605 lbs.

3605lbs (original weight) - GTA seats, replaced with manual 4th gen front seats - no back seats (the split backrest rears are in my closet) + subwoofer box = ?maybe? 3500lbs.

She's still a porker!

I have another GTA hood (that only had very minor dings), but wouldn't mind shedding another couple hundred pounds!

Re: Jongbloed hoods for Firebirds?

I dont think any one makes those hoods for a firebird, and its a shame, I too contacted the company that makes it for the camaro about one for firebirds, they just simply told me they are working on another hood for the firebird.

Re: Jongbloed hoods for Firebirds?

If I was a fiberglass guy, I'd see about getting a stock 'glass Firebird hood, and a Jongbloed Camaro hood, cut the center out of the Camaro hood, and fit it on he Firebird hood. But, I know they aren't interchangeable, and never seen the two, side by side, so I dunno how far off they are. to merge the two together.

Then again, they'd be an expensive experiment!
