Free Trans Am Taillight "mod"

I did this a while back and as the weather has been getting nicer, I decided I'd share it with the community. It's really simple, and it looks great....and free! All you have to do is take out the taillights and switch the middle bulb socket with the outer bulb socket.

what's the benefit? i guess i don't get what's appealing about it. it just looks like it would make your turn signal confusing to other drivers. with how bad some drivers are, the last thing i want you to do is confuse them and have them hit my T/A!

There is no real 'benefit' to it, other than if you like the way it looks. I personally think it makes the lights more noticeable since instead of them being close together, the lights are spread apart, more chance to see them.

Either way, it comes down to personal option, either like it, or don't. I like they way it looks over the way it is stock, personally. Everyone has their own opinion, though.

Glad you like it. It was just something I thought of one day, and it worked out well, thought I'd share it. It also sets your car off a little. I've seen many other third gen Trans Am's but none that have this done.

Yeah...the stock brake lights not being on the inner 2 bugged me. So I bought a pair of sockets like the inner 2, and swapped them out. Then, I decided to do the STS tail lights, in my avatar.

They really get people's attention, so there is no doubt to tailgaters, that I'm turning.

Stephen, I have admired your STS's since I first visited this board. Some day I will take the time and money in fabbing something of that nature up, but until then this is slightly more...fitting of my budget...of $0

...at least until after I finish performance mods that are much more needed than appearance mods
