Centerbolt spark wire holders
I bought a set of these spark plug wire holders that are made for centerbolt valve covers. However, I cant install them as specified because the air tubes for my exhaust manifolds are in the way. Is there any other way of installing these??. I thought I saw someone on this site that had them mounted on the intake manifold holes and angled down over the valve covers, but I cant find the pics. Any suggestions Thanks.

Well if you didnt live in CA Id say rip them out, they dont do a whole lot. I took mine out and mine passed the sniffer test with flying colors.

Yep, the tubes are in the way for sure....I am glad I got rid of that stuff, cuz they really do look good...I realize you cant do that....I know there is a way to use them...Is there no way that you can bend them up at a sharp angle???Good luck, Tom

Re: Centerbolt spark wire holders
yeah too bad I cant rip them out...That would be the first thing I do.
Gallileo60: that might work. Ill check tomorrow howmuch clearance I have and if I can bend them.
rwdtech: Mine came with the engine I bought, but if you want them summit and jegs sells them. i think my local Pep Boys even sells them.
I remember seeing a pic somewhere on this site where the guy mounted them onto his intake manifold, but I cont find the pic. I think he bent them a bit too..
any other ideas??

Got mine at Auto Zone, along with the Valve Covers..
Re: Centerbolt spark wire holders
are you using stock manifolds or headers? Chevy sells wire looms for running underneath the stock manifolds if you don't want to use their stock set up. If running headers I bought wire looms from Moroso that come up the sides

Yeah Im running the stock manifolds with teh crappy air lines. If these dont work out illprobably just get another set. Having the wires nice and neat makes a huge difference.
I just cant seem to find pics with the wires ran clean on a car with the smog air lines.

Re: Centerbolt spark wire holders

this is how i routed mine,so far after 400 miles worth of driving, its problem free...there not even close to touching the headers, and i kind of like the uncluttered look by not having the looms, jsut an idea for ya if yo uwanted to go that route...
by the way, there 8.8 accel wires i had to cut and make to length...only set of wires i ever buy.

Re: Centerbolt spark wire holders
cant remember what mine are.i ordered them at my local speed shop.my only gripe about them was that the wire holders were cheap plastic and melted out of shape or off the bracket completely.but it did look sharp when first installed and clean lol.i can take a better pic tomorrow that isnt so dark.
