Idea to clean up my wheels...

The wheels originally had black paint that was starting to peel so I stripped that off. I was going to buff and polish them but I got lazy and school started up so I ran out of time. Now what I'm thinking about doing is sanding them down and applying Wurth German Alloy Silver Wheel Lacquer and Wurth High Gloss Clear Lacquer. I don't know if anyone has experience with these products so I'm looking for any suggestions. BTW I just have the stock 89 RS wheels.

you could paint the wheels then polish just the lip and flat edges. I didn't repaint mine but I polished them when the clear coat was all cracked and flakey:

nice, i like that look with the polished edges. I think i'm still going to hit it with some clear lacquer just to protect them.
