I did this little photoshop a long time ago (dunno whos car it is / was) and was just wondering if any of you had any ideas on how to make this headlight setup come to life:

Redraif and a couple others have made something close to that.
Check out www.redraif.com

For the hood, have it welded to the headlight tops or the same thickness(gauge) of metal as the hood welded to it.

Yeah I know of redraif. But they used two small fog lamp housings and I dont think that looks anywhere near as good as my photoshop.

well then all you have to do is find some foglights or "bulbs" that are the exact shape/size as what you want and make up a bracket if it didn't come w/ one like fog's would and wire it in. as for the headlights now disconnect the motors and weld it down

My plan is to remove the entire motor and light assembly completely, take the metal from the top and weld it to the hood to make it all one peice.

The snare is finding light fixtures that size. The closest I can think of is a 90s cutlass supreme 2dr or grand prix headlight and those are too tall and not wide enough.

Just a note. You'll probably need to make something from sheet metal instead.
The headlight doors are made from the same thing the mirrors, outer part of the t-tops and door handles are made from. Pot metal.
It's not very friendly to weld.

Re: Bird headlight mods

you can get fiberglass hoods without the cutouts for headlights, if you want to go that route.
