Re: Thirdgen Wagon
Hmmmm.....I've got that spare GTA hatch to use as a base, if I found a body with a busted glass...mod a S-10/Mazda-sized camper to fit it....narrowed....lean the back forward, plex for the mold, lexan for a final product, then pull the glass out of the bottom, and use the flat bottom piece for the rear lip.....trimmed back of course.
Not crazy about the 3rd brake light. I'd flush mount it to the shell or under the glass.
Oe problem I see with that prototype, is that there is no way to open the rear, and it would be WAY too heavy to open like the hatch does already.

Re: Thirdgen Wagon
Like I said at the B'fast yesterday, I'm planning on building a "mold" out of plywood to fit the car. Basically, I think I can build the whole thing out of light plywood. The plywood shell would be about 3/8"-1/2" small all the way around to allow for the fiberglass. Once the 'glass is cured slide it off of the plywood shell. Windows can be cut where ever I want them, and I've already figured out how to bend/shape lexan if I decide on some curved windows. It'll bolt directly to the car just like the OEM hatch so I can remove it if I decide to.
I agree about the 3rd brake light, I'd probably move it inside behind the rear glass.
