Need help finding this air scoop.... (inside)

My supercharger won't quite clear the hood and I've got two ideas brewing:

1) I've had my eye on this Hilborn "shotgun" intake for a while. But I need a smaller version that will mate up to a carb. Has anybody seen anything like this anywhere??? I think it actually has a chance to work with the curvy lines of a Firebird.

http://www.hilborninjection.com/prod...=403&CatId=158

2) I'm also thinking of fabbing up a carb adapter with a rubber seal to a very small cowl induction hood. I'd fit up a flat rectangular air filter built into the hood. Has anybody seen this done? Any ready-made kits out there or is this a custom fiberglass job?

Oh, you're good! I've casually searched for a couple years for this and you come up with it in a few minutes.

Need a new hobby? I could keep you busy for a while...

Actually, have you ever seen a full size bottom sump fuel tank that will work with the factory straps and fuel filler?

Holy cow! How do you find this stuff so easy??? I will admit I suck at internet searches. Thanks for your help.

That's pretty much what I was looking for and like you said, it is very expensive. But that's exactly what I needed to know. It looks more enticing to modify my factory fuel tank.

I'll give you a head start by letting you know that G&T Fiberglass started a mold but put it on hold for undetermined amount of time. That's the best I could do when I looked.

Re: Need help finding this air scoop.... (inside)

I had a few emails back & forth with G&T, even shot them a Photochop of my car with a Jongbloed, and they said the would work on it, but that was MONTHS ago. Like 7 months ago. I gave up on them. Too many bad reports, and I had a HELLUVA time getting any communication out of them.

I'm saving up for a Ram Air 1 (93-97 style) hood now.

That hood would have been sweet.......They really dropped the ball by not bringing that one available.

Re: Need help finding this air scoop.... (inside)

Even if they announced TODAY it was ready, I wouldn't buy one.

WAY too many bad reviews.

TGO vendor review thread. Now, I realize pretty much EVERY vendor has good reviews and bad reviews. But G&T has like ONE good review, all the others are bad. From bad products, bad customer service, to bad communication.

IMHO, I think G&T is out of business, just selling off the stock they currently have on hand, or is on their way out. If they go out of business, what kind of Customer Service/warranty, could they provide? NONE.

I wasn't exactly enamored with them either. Their response to me was that they had the project on hold but to keep checking back. Keep checking back!?!?! Why would I make it my hobby to monitor them? That kind of response is typical of somebody that has no plan and doesn't want to be accountable for schedules.
