I've heard Silicone is bad for your paint, is it? All the 3M series of polishes, waxes, etc. boast that they are silicone free.

They are bad if you are going to paint the car any time soon, or if you work in a body shop. Silicone will cause bad fish eye and paint will not adhere to anything with silicone on it. Other than that I don't know why it would be bad for paint.

i usually put on the quarter panels behind my back tires when i go drag racing that way rubber won't stick to the body. It works great, and so far it hasn't done a thing to the paint.
