Taillight Mod...What do you think?
I think I like it, I can't quite decide yet though. Any thoughts/opinions?

Re: Taillight Mod...What do you think?
I don't really think it's good OR bad. It just is.
Some of my favorite mods are the ones that look like they could be factory. Your mod could certainly be from the factory that way, so in that respect, I like what you did. Tastefull. Not tacky.

Re: Taillight Mod...What do you think?
Thanks! I feel the same way about mods in most cases. It's the ones that people don't notice and just assume are factory that are the most fun. I like having to point things out and show people what I've done, rather than having it jump out at them as an obvious mod.
So, now I just need to figure out how to actually DO this (I photoshopped that image). Any thoughts?

Re: Taillight Mod...What do you think?
Thanks guys, I'll try and do some research into actually doing this. I'll probably try and track down a spare set of tails to cut apart and see if it's actually feasible.
In the mean time, I also did up a shot of my car with '91-'92 T/A tails in it...just for the fun of it. I like it, but I also like the subtle effect of modding the regular 'bird units...

Re: Taillight Mod...What do you think?
I had a similar idea, but instead of clear, I wanted to go all red except for the reverse lights. I've torn into an extra light and I can't figure out a way to do it. The paint like the Camaro guys use isn't working for me.
I've also thought about blacking out the amber and converting the outside running lights in the red part to stops/turn lights
Sorry for the crappy pic....I'm not very good at photochopping. I did this on paint.

Re: Taillight Mod...What do you think?
I'm not sure if I like it or not. Its better than stock, but I still like the 85-90 TA lights best.
Kudos if you can pull it off tho.

Just make sure they still light up amber. When I see a nice car go by, if I notice its signal lights are white, I lose all respect for it. heh.

Re: Taillight Mod...What do you think?
I like your ideas too Fyrchkn, but I was afraid of what you said. Difficult to feasibly change the color of the lens  Oh well, if I come across an extra set of tails I may mess with it.
Orinackra - agreed, I like the 85-90's too. If I find a good set for cheap (or less
) I may grab them and put them in, but more likely I'll hold out for '91-'92's assuming I win the lottery by the time I find a set
I agree with you 305q_ta86 I would definitely be putting amber bulbs in there if I ever did pull off the clear signals. My friend swapped LX tail lights into his '87 Mustang GT and, without amber bulbs the signals lit up white. I don't care for that look at ALL, besides, it's a good way to get picked on by the cops. When you already have a loud ORANGE car, you don't need to give them any more excuses to look at you

Re: Taillight Mod...What do you think?
With clear front side markers, along with the already clear front turn signals on the '91-'92 cars, all with amber bulbs, it would work and look pretty good, similar to today's "modern" cars.
But if you figure out how to "clear-up" the insides, then clearing all of it and "smoking" the entire lens would look cool, too, using the applicable bulbs: amber(signal), red(stop/tail), or all red(signal, too) and clear(back-up, of course).

Yeah, too bad. When I have a little extra cash laying around I may get ahold of you and shoot some your way if you'd be willing to ship them. Or maybe I'll just try and catch up with you next time I'm down that way!

Re: Taillight Mod...What do you think?
if you want to man, yeah thats cool. I can ship them or whatever. They're just gonna sit in my garage and collect dust. Anything to donate some junk to a good cause. Hopefully you can get something worked out.
