about the projector headlights vs angel eyes
ok I bought this ones on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/87-88...spagenameZWDVW and they suck even with new bulb. I know a lot of people told me that they suck but i had bought them already now im thinking of buying this angel eyes one the black ones http://lightlens.com/headlights.htm M091050 well i think they are black.and is it truth that the ones i bought are just for high beams .I got a 92 firebird so there's no high beams.pls help me to see wich are better from that page.thx
Re: about the projector headlights vs angel eyes
H4 bulbs, as I recall, are both high beam and low beam, but are wired differntly then our normal headlights.
Those angels are no black from the looks of it, they where just taken with no flash in a dark area. Why do you want angel eyes on a Firebird? When the headlights are off you can't see them and when the headlights are on the headlamp with make the angel eye part appear so dim you won't be able to see it.

Re: about the projector headlights vs angel eyes
well i want angel eyes cuz i disconnected the motors for the headlights because i had bout some from ebay and they didn't work so I spend it like 120 dollars for nothing so I'm leaving them up ill I want to know if are they bright or not cuz I'm sick of getting ripped off on ebay and since this ones are from matrix hopefully they're good so does anybody have them.

Re: about the projector headlights vs angel eyes
i just recently did the H4 conversion and i can tell you for sure that the H4 wiring is the SAME as the H6054 on the Firebird. the Camaro's wiring is different not the Firebird.

Re: about the projector headlights vs angel eyes
i got the hella vision plus lenses- those ran about $35 each. then i upgraded the bulbs (the lenses come with their own bulbs) to Osram Silverstar H4 bulbs (NOT sylvania) and the set cost $27 new off ebay. lastly i got the Painless H4 conversion harness which was the most expensive at $105 off amazon. however, the conversion is MUCH brighter than any sealed beam and i think it was worth it. the hella lenses make all the difference over the cheap ebay ones.

Re: about the projector headlights vs angel eyes
don't think i've ever heard of them. the hella's are the best for the money. cibie is also a good brand but they'll run you around $65 each. i'd recommend the hella's only because they're very high quality, the price is right, and the beam pattern is VERY good. low beam has the cutoff and on high it puts light everywhere, and i mean everywhere! maybe you can find a pic of the beam pattern- try a google image search for "hella vision plus"

Re: about the projector headlights vs angel eyes
yea i'll try and get some pics one of these nights....prob. won't get them til the end of the week but i'll get 'em. you won't be able to see much of the harness b/c i tried to route it as close to the stock route as possible. i was surprised how easily and cleanly everything installed.
here's some links for the bulbs:
http://www.motorbulbs.com/product_in...products_id/98
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OSRAM...spagenameZWDVW
also, google "osram silverstar H4" and you'll get more links. since they're euro bulbs, you might have to get them shipped from the UK but you can find them stateside on ebay for sure.

Re: about the projector headlights vs angel eyes
yea the harness was a piece of cake. it really was "painless". the hardest parts were routing it and mounting the relays and fuse holder. other than that all i needed to do was hook it up to the battery and ground it. the rest from there was plug and play. the harness itself is really nice- heavy gauge, good quality wiring with heavy duty connectors, hella relays, weatherproof fuse holder all wrapped up in conduit. definitely worth the money.
i'll get the pics up in the next few days.

Re: about the projector headlights vs angel eyes
Yeh I heard good thing about the hella lenses and that painless harness.
Would be good to see pictures of install!
I am also looking at the matrix lights. I may order from summit soon.
I had those blue led angels (altho leds on one side blew
)on my previous blue RS but was warned by the cops a few times here in the UK so wont go for those again on my current Z28.
I may post a pic of the old blue RS later, I quite liked the look of them

So what exactly do I need to convert to HID or H4 lighting.
Is one better than the oter?
I want to replace my stock lights on my Camaro but which one is the best quality. I don't want to buy cheap crap and I can't figure out what to buy?
Need advice..........thanks

Re: about the projector headlights vs angel eyes
here's a link to the pics i've been meaning to post all week:
http://punkdude908.myphotoalbum.com/...umName=album01
as you can see from the pics, the bulbs are VERY bright. the pics don't exactly do them 100% justice- the high beams are really WAAAY brighter than they look in the pics- i mean the light goes everywhere. i also took pics of the beam pattern just so you guys could get an idea. and as for the wiring, it's only temporary- i plan on re-doing it soon so it will have a much cleaner appearance.
i wouldn't convert to HID. that's just me- i don't really like the way they look. i'm beyond happy and satisfied with the Osram H4 Silverstars.
as for the quality- the hella lenses are extremely good quality. i'd recommend them to anybody who wanted to do the conversion. believe me when i say they are not cheap crap. also, they are a huge step up from any sealed beam.
hope this helps anyone who had/ still has questions.

Re: about the projector headlights vs angel eyes
Sylvania makes the Sylvania bulbs...BUT
Osram is Sylvania's parent company (they own Sylvania). Osram is in Germany. Sylvania is in US. Sylvania Silverstars have the blue coated lens on the bulb- the blue lens acts like a filter- only letting blue light through and nothing else. Osram Silverstars have a clear lens bulb with a UV coating- letting out all possible wavelengths of light. Not only are the Osrams whiter, they put out more light making them brighter and they last longer than Sylvania Silverstars. They're all around a better bulb. I did hours or research online to find out the Osram Silverstars are the best bulb for the money. I highly recommend them.
the Sylvania Silverstars are completely different from the Osram Silverstars- they only have the name in common.

Re: about the projector headlights vs angel eyes
I won't deny the awesome light output of the osram bulb. I'm already using osram bulbs in my h4 conversion. Been using for a little over a year I think. Picked them up from www.rallylights.com . But the way you worded it is that they are different, competing companies. Which they're not. I didn't know osram had a silverstar out. What's the lumen output?

SO WICH HEADLIGHT DID YOU GET, I LIKE THE BLACK ANGEL EYES.
Re: about the projector headlights vs angel eyes
the black ones will not project the light as they are supposed to since black absorbs light instead of reflecting it, hence the light sucking on the first try.

HIDs are completely different. It's like running a flourescent bulb in your headlights.
Why would you put "angel eyes" in a bird? The only time you can really see them is with the headlights off and then I'd assume (whoops, maybe I shouldn't) that you'd want the headlight doors in the door position because our cars look weird with them up...

Are the lenses tinted blue? If not then just change the bulbs in them. Hell, just look at the bulb. It's probably blue...

Re: about the projector headlights vs angel eyes

So thats what my H4 conversion looks like. And I can't wait to be made fun of for my horrible *** paint, don't let anyone tell you that sunlight can't hurt a car. This ole' girl was from texas and it took me a whole week to get it flat black and about 17 cans of spray paint lol. As for the lights, I had to rewire the harness, AND keep the city lights at the top effectively hiding them under the hood shroud. I sealed them prior to putting them in with silicone from Home Depot and they work like champs. Haven't even touched my brights since.
----------
Oh the pic with the lights on is with my camera phone, so thats where the purple reflection is coming from, bad lense and low megapixels.
