does anyone know of a way to make my 92 camaros taillights all red like this z28's?

Yep, I asked him and he said he just sprayed them with the red Kandy Kote paint he used on the rest of the car. Kandys are semi-transparent so the light that shines through is red

 

would any kind of off the shelf spray paint do that?

check with the company that makes the paint for model cars (forget the name off hand) I think they have a translucent red paint that could work. Or go to an auto body store and see if they have anything like that in a spray can...just make sure you don't paint the clear part if it's gonna be a daily driver, cops will ticket you like mad for not havin clear reverse lights.

 

This would depend on the color of his car, true candy colors use multi-stages of paint, you could not do this over a taillight and have it work properly.

red clear is common to come by; the guy couldn't have sprayed the lights like his car because true candy's have a color beneath and this would have severly blocked the light! I'm sure they just sprayed the car with the translucent red or (brandywine) which acts much like the tint spray you can buy. for this paint you would have to go to a body shop or painters supply type place! i've never seen over the counter clear reds.

so did he paint both sides of the tail light? i'm just interested in getting rid of the amber lense. i'll try some stuff and see what i can get. we have a ton of different tail lights around. ill try it on some mustang tails. i can get any paint type, my dad owns a body shop, but i hate asking him a question and looking like an *** . i like to get as much info as possible.

 

another way to get your lense a different color is with a red sharpie marker. i tried it on some normal old camaro tail lights and it looks just fine.(not the ones on my car) they're permanent and water resistant. seems cheap though

 

yeah, he just used the translucent stage of the paint, not the base colors, guess I should've elaborated. You only have to spray the outside, there will be a slight difference in the lights (since the turn signal light shines through amber then red), but when just looking at them it shouldn't be noticible.
