1/4" die grinder. Get a speed controller. Get a 6" and a 3" shaft (mandrel) for sanding rolls. Then buy a schwack of those, in different grits.
mcmaster.com is a good source

What does he want for that dremel kit? I think those go for around $80 here.
Unfortunately they don't have much power, you can stall it out easily, meaning you don't get to remove much metal very fast. Also those sanding drums are very expensive, once you start using it much. A 3 pack of sanding rolls costs something like $4 here, yet the thread on ones for a die grinder are closer to $.25 per.
If you're just touching up the outside to make it shiny and pretty (I guess this is the forum I stumbled into....) then the dremel would work ok. If you're going to be enlarging runners and porting heads, don't bother with a dremel, go straight to a die grinder.

Yes,i will work outside only just for polish,i dont know and im not sure how much affects the performance porting the runners but ive read its better ported.-
can i polish the intake manifold too ?

The dremel is great for tight spots. I think you will find that alot has to be done by hand and a die grinder.

If you haven't actually grinded them yet-ACID wash cleans them em up. Then (though its coincedered wrong) silver high-heat spray paint-durable and you can use degreaser on the finish

i sand blasted the runners
they are grey like on primer now

same deal with runners as the plenum. nothing different. alot more work. That's why I normally get all the dents out of the runners then somewhat enlarge them then just powdercoat them almost chrome.
i want to polish instead of powdercoating them
they are complicated because they are rounded
i forgot the grit numbers ....
all wet sanding ? i think the first two are dry ...
any clue ?
thanx!

depends on how good you want themcould go 220 on the heavily casted areas then 320 then 400 on all areas. then 400 wet and then 600 wet then polish. as hard as it is to get to all areas that is why I would go with powdercoating. the almost chrome is a very close match.

how polished and shiny do you want it?...lol ive done motorcycle parts for years and its a pain in the ....... you get the idea. lol. what everyone else here is telling you to do will get you very happy results after all your hard work. i have polished stuff way beyond the point people posted hear and it sucks but it ends up looking like crome! me and my one friend did his zx10 and polished some stuff and cromed other stuff. took it to a show and people didnt believe the parts that were polished werent crome. for engine parts if its not a show car i would honestly powder coat it and be done with it. easier to keep nice with less effort and crome powdercoat looks very good. i couldnt give you an actual price for the powdercoat job on that but to give you an idea places will charge 50 to 80 bucks to powdercoat a motorcycle wheel so i cant see it costing alot at all to go with powdercoat
