hey your paint looks great, now if you take off that bra, it will look 100% better, i used to have one too, but mine was because my front end was messed up from the previous owner and i didnt have the money to get it fixed, but now its fixed, and the bra will never go near the car again.
and look for some nice IROC rims, those look great on 91-92 cars!!
just thought i would add some opinions!!
but anyways the car looks great

The bra is to cover up a messed up corner of the bumper, Its was dented and a bad repair job. Plus there are nicks on the front ground effects. How bad would it look if I just got the front repainted.
By the way It's original paint

Hey Jiffy,
I saw your last post. I work at maaco and see cars get painted all day long. If its the original paint, you will have a paint code on the car. Maaco (or any other body shop) will use that and make an exact copy of the original paint. Get your self some sand paper, make sure to only sand off the front bumper part (stops at hood and quarter panels). A good paint job at my maaco with basecoat and clearcoat will cost around $120 if you sand it yourself..... just sand it good enough so the surface is really scratchy and the new paint will stick to it.

I have to agree with the others. Get the front bumper cover repaired so you can get rid of the bra and some new wheels would make a nice difference. The car still looks very nice.

Hope these guys don't offend you, Jiffy...everybody has an opinion (ha). Your car looks great, man. The 1992 Camaros are one of the best years...they are the most solid third gens 'cause they added extra welds and adhesive to the body structure. I have had a blast with mine, hope you do, too.

Thank for the advice, this summer when I have some time and money, I will sand down my bumper and get it repainted. Then take off the bra. I don't know the paint code. The sticker on the door jam was ripped off when i bought it. I hear its in the vin number. Where? Thanks

Very nice. I love the color. And I agree that you should get rid of the bra cause it ruins the paint. My front end is cracked up from an accident but I still would never go for a bra. Awesome car. And how the hell are IROC wheels ugly?

YO MO!!!!
I just dont like the way the iroc wheels (or any other thirdgen) go in, they are offset and belong on a truck (imagine that, thats why they fit perfectly on one). I just sold my 88 iroc wheels, imagine that? Anyway i like the bad *** wheels like the ones on the SS camaros, ZR1 vettes, Y2K vettes, Cobra R rims.... (they dont fit on trucks either)... This is just my opinion though also i think the 91 or 92 Z28 wheels are FUGGIN BAD to... just wish they were 17".

Your gonna think Im crazy but this is how I get that finish.
3 layers of meguirs paste wax
3 layers of turtle wax,
1 more layer of meguirs wax
4 minutes worth of spraying that carnuba wax at the self serve car wash.
I put like 3 more coats of meguirs every 3 months and the carnuba when ever I want a good shine before I go out.

For all of those who wanted me to take off my Bra Now I think about it, that sounds wierd, anyway you know what I mean

The reason behind the bra

Plus the front spoiler has cracked paint, you can't tell in the photo. But its there.

Hey, that's funny. Mine had almost the same damage... a mustang backed into me. I got the front end painted, and it looks great. The front was all sun faded. It is now really shiney. It cost $400 Canadian... but insurance paid for me. They fixed the scrapes on the front nose as well. I say it would be worth it.

My uncle works at a body shop, and they have a painting room. I going to see if he will show me how to do the prep. And he can paint it for me after hours. All I have to pay is for the paint and materials.
I don't know how I got my damage, It was before I bought the car almost 3 years ago.

Car looks great man, like everyone said, get some wheels for it, and drop it! The space between the top of the tire and the well is way too much. Nice set of springs and some good wheels and tires and that car looks mean!

I am surprised nobody has mentioned this, but do NOT go to Maaco - thats asking for crap work on a car that nice..

To get it painted to a level you'd be happy with, it's gonna run you anywheres from $200-$800 JUST to paint the nose...

Great looking ride tho!

Here's a pic of the nose on mine after I had it redone (I have since put the factory IROC stripes back on the car)...

Also, my shiny paint...lol

...and IROC rims aren't ugly!

I would like to stress again how important it is not to go to Macco. They do a horrible job with the paint, I bought a 92' RS from a guy that just had it painted there, and day after day i began finding paint where it shoulden't be. Mostly in my interior. My car is Purple with a charcoal interior and purple paint on my seats and steering wheel did not look attractive. They also will paint anything that uyou dont tape up before you bring it there, like exaust tips, door and trunk locks and also weather stripping. I am very dissapointed with them.. I suggest you go somewhere else to paint your car.
