Re: Not the best paint combo ever...

Dark Red Metallic with factory white and a tan interior. Ew. Was probably factory white, and he put on the maroon GFX. Decided to do the whole car that way. I love (my) Maroon, and I think a white IROC can look key, but not together. I don't think ANY color split looks good along that line. Where the factory did color splits looks SO much better.

I am leaving this open for now as I think it can be a descent discussion... please don't turn it into a bashing fest.

Re: Not the best paint combo ever...

I know. My car is dark red metallic. Look at my avatar. :thankyou:

But the car was most likely factory white. And then painted the dark red metallic. I've never seen a dark red metallic car with the saddle interior. According to Camarosource, it was a valid combination, but I personally have never seen it. Only black and red.

Re: Not the best paint combo ever...

I believe his is refering to the fact that the engine bay and the door jams are the dark red metallic color, so I'd say the car was not factory white.

Oh! Whoops. My bad. I thought he was just showing me a dark red metallic engine bay. Didn't even notice that on the ebay add. My apologies!

Re: Not the best paint combo ever...

IMO would look a lot nicer with the body side moldings removed to distinguish the lines a little bit better. Not a bad car, in fact a lot nicer than most third gens in my area.

Re: Not the best paint combo ever...

thats not terrible.. there was one guy on here who had the same colour scheme, however the red went to the top of the fenders and along the bottom of the doors..(if I recall correctly) and it didn't look too bad at all.

There's a gazillion of 'em!!!! .....well, to be fair, there's a lot more with the grey, but still plenty of dark red/saddle out there!

Re: Not the best paint combo ever...

the car had faded paint on top and the bottom sections were still presentable. that is why the top is white door jambs and engine maroon. it's pretty simple to see what he did, well for me that is because i have the same problem.
