Stock Springs
Anyone have their stock springs, after they replaced them with another kind to lower it? I'm thinking of buying some stock springs. Just curious if anyone has them.
I just had some brand new springs put on and it makes a HUGE difference on my 86 IROC. Yes there is a difference in springs get the IROC-Z springs they are the best as far as stock goes. I didn't want to lower my car because with a 4" exhaust I get no ground clearance.

Herb Adams is a guy who helped design the oringinal '69 Trans Am. He has been doing FBody's for years and had his own product line of suspension parts sold through Moroso. He's not so popular these days as he once was... that's probably why you never heard of him
.
Anyway, when 3rd gens were still the newest Camaro out there he recommended using V6 springs with a 1/4 to 1/2 coild cut off to lower the car. The softer spring has a dramatic improvement on ride quality compared to the V8 springs, especially IROCS. The handling did not degrade and in most cases the car actually handled better because the IROC springs are simply too stiff for the shocks they use and for use in a street car. Chevy was trying to improve handling and body roll through gastly stiff springs instead of increasing body stiffnes and sway bar size. You'll notice the newer cars just keep getting a softer and softer ride yet handle better and better. They're applying that same concept.
