tell me how you think this will look!
ok guys so im getting the car painted by the end of this month and here is what im doing. i have an 89 formula and im painting it back to the origional paint since you can see in my avitar that its not the same color. but what im going to do is put one of the 78ish birds on the hood. i measured it out and it will fill the hood perfectly i think it will look beautiful. im going to post some pictures. one is going to be the bird before the wreak and the second of the bird going on there. so tell me what you think. i think it will look wicked coming towards you with that big bird on the hood.
ok i got the first picture but the second one i already posted in a post so i cant get it on here. so go to this page ( https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/auto...ecreation.html ) and it is in there right before the line of big third gen bandits.

Re: tell me how you think this will look!
Honestly, I would not do that. I think that getting the correct factory decal kit would be the best way to go. Personally, the Formula is my favorite of all the Firebirds, and they are sweet just the way they came from the factory (appearance wise anyway). I think that sticking a bird decal on that nice powerbulge hood would look really tacky, and further reinforce the trailer park, you-know-what-haircut, image that many people have of these cars.

I'm very partial to the bird on the hood (as you can tell by my avatar). I was totally stoked to replace my hood with one thats got a bird. I say put it on there as long as you can get it on well. I thought the pics looked great. Thats my two cents anyways.

Im not sure how its gonna work with the power bulge hood, maybe if it was a flat hood then yeah. Don't forget the birds forthe sail panel.

Re: tell me how you think this will look!
I think its definitely doable and would look killer. I'm going to consider getting some sort of bird decal on my cowl hood once I get it painted. Most likely vinyl just incase I don't like it. But what I've thought is getting sort of a smaller bird near the front of the hood, and having the wings come up and "wrap around" the sides of the cowl along with racing flags or something...

go for the bird man!!!! i have thought about finding someone to airbrush a bird on the hood. i need a new hood though first. but definitely go for it. the more you love your car the more custom you should make it. that way the less likely you are to sell it!!!!!!!!
hcr13 did you post pics of your idea?? i thought i had seen some before.

I've always thought it would be cool to try to incorporate a shaker with TPI... I'm thinking of buying a spare firebird hood and try to fab a shaker that will bolt onto the tpi intake....

Re: tell me how you think this will look!
thank a lot for the comments guys, heres another one... i have two more ideas for my car but i dont know which one i should do. here are the two themes i guess you could say. i was origionally going to do a back and red theme by tinting the front and back side lights, the tail light and the front turnsignal lights next to the flip up lights. the second is making the front turn signal lights clear, making the front side marker light clear and basically doing a red with clear lights theme. let me know what you think and if someone could make a photoshop of the two that would be awsome. unlit then heres a picture of her with the refinished wheels on there it looks even better now!
