What's up? Waxes
Hey guys, what wax is everyone using these days?
It's been a while since I've had a car worth waxing. Ordered some F113 as that was the best stuff I've ever used (didn't last long though).

Mark A Shields........that name sounds familiar.....
.....I've switched from Megs Gold Class to Megs Tech Wax 2.0. It made a noticable difference. .....there are some more high end, high end waxes that some people will swear by, but I'm just not there yet. Maybe after I get the car painted.

I use Zymol Carbon Wax. This is mainly for Dark Colored cars such as black.
A bit expensive at $50.00, but well worth it in my opinion

Re: What's up? Waxes
I heard that is an awesome wax. I wanted to get some this spring (the kind for light cars) and couldn't find it anywhere besides online and I didn't want to have to pay shipping on it if I could find it in a store. Where did you get yours??? And Mark, if you don't want to shell out the money for the carbon wax, you can get a base cleaner-polish Zymol at wal-mart or autozone for 13 bucks. That's what I've been using on mine for 9 years and I love it!

I have been a professional reconditionner for years...anything Meguiars PASTE wax, like the NXT is the best 10-15 bucks can buy. The company still hold true to the natural oils for their wax.....good old carnuba(a fatty oil derrived from vegtables...like potatoes) and banana oils...in my experience brings and maintains a deep gloss "wet" shine.
The Zymol, RainX, and the new "Ice" liquid wax are all chemical and synthetic based waxes....they apply great...but do not last due to their "chemical" creation
If you want to splurge and go all out....you can buy Collinite #915 "marque de elegance".....this is the hands down BEST wax for every color, paint type and condition. You will be pleased with your purchase

3M performance finish is what I use. It lasts as long as conventional waxes

I've been using natural carnuba wax from The Wax Shop, since day one. I love it. My local Auto Zone stopped carrying this stuff because it's not a well known brand name, so I went and bought a whole case of it for a discounted price. It's the best wax that $15 or $20 can buy. Past that, Zaino is one of the best products on the market, or so I've heard. It's very costly though.

Re: What's up? Waxes
I've used the F113, but it doesn't last and the owner was a jerk. I've used Zaino, and wasn't overly impressed. I've used Wizards products and like te finished product, but it doesn't last either. Meguiar's Gold Class and Yellow #26 are good, but don't last. I've recently applied the NXT 2.0 and we'll see how that works.
Zaino isn't that much more expensive than the rest. If you apply the NXT, Wizards, F113 etc with the same process as Zaino, you'll get the same shine. It's all in the clay bar, swirl removers and top coat.
