Thanks everyone! I think I'm gonna keep it. It is just too much fun to drive...LOL!! I really didn't want to sell it in the first place. I just got really frustrated when I kept running into stupid snags that were stoping me from finishing it. Now that it is done, I am glad that there were no serious takers on the car. I would have regreted it.

The shock tower braces bolt directly to the bolts that are already there. You have to drill 2 holes in the lip over the firewall, but that is easy once bolted to the side brackets.

It is Edelbrock's strut tower brace. The application is for a TBI car, not a TPI, which is why it has clearance for the air cleaner.

How do you fit 17x11's with 315's on the back of a thirdgen? I REALLY want to put those tires on the back of my car so any info would help. Thanx

You have to basically beat the hell out of the inner wheel well for clearance, and bend up the outer lip and clearance it a little bit too.

I was wondering if it was the Edelbrock brace. I've got a carb'd car, and as far as I know, it is the only one that fits them. Been toying with getting one, but I think I've got bigger things to worry about (sfcs). So, its either Edelbrock or make one myself. Any problems making it fit? I've heard some people had problems with it.

No problems, other than drilling your own holes. Other than that, it was easy.

How much pounding did you have to do for them rear 17x11, How about some pictures of the area you had to do this to with rims off

Im thinking of 17x11 for the rear with a 6inch back spacing, Hopefully I dont have to mangle to much.

Thanks

Its really not that bad. Just a hammer and a little time. It is a pound and test fit thing. You can't tell, but the outer lip is beat out a little bit too. It was done so that it did not look like it was radiused. Just flared out enough to compensate for the wheels. If this isn't done, the wheels will look like they stick out a little.

I have not taken it to the track yet. I am still in the break in period of the motor. I have only put about 300 miles on it so far. I will let everyone know what it runs when I get a chance to take it out.

It is mostly in my signature...I will include it with this post. As far as selling it...make me an offer. Anything is for sale, for the right price. Just remember that I have about $15,000-$18,000 in the car, and it has only been on the road for about 3 weeks now. The motor only has about 300-400 miles on it. I paid $3,500 for the car, there is $4,500 under the hood, $3,500 in suspension upgrades, $3,000 in wheels and tires, $800 seats, $500 hood...the list goes on and on.

Is it just me, or does anyone else notice that there isn't a front GFX in the first pic.
