Black and Gold Early Trans Ams Paint Color
Hey,
I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find paint thats like the original gold that ran on the bottom of Black/Gold and Recaro Trans Ams?
I googled it and got:
The black touch-up paint is called "Lamp Black", and is 1982 GM Color Code #19 (still researching this). The gold touch-up paint is called "Gold Wing Metallic", and is 1982 GM Color Code #55L, GM part 1#1052700.
But I have no way of finding it.

We called the place and gave them the number and everything, but they had no idea what the numbers were. No success there.
Any other ideas?

Re: Black and Gold Early Trans Ams Paint Color
I did a search for the PPG code for the GM colors. I found 3424 for Goldwing Metallic and 120 for Black. Take these codes to any paint shop and they should be able to find the paint.
I found the codes by searching on www.carpaintonline.com
You can buy paint from the site also, the PPG brand is $245 a gallon for the
original fast dry acrylic based lacquer. This is the only option in black.
The gold is the same price for the same acrylic based lacquer.
There are other options for the gold also on the site. Not sure if you can find a better price elsewhere but this is what I found in about 5 minutes of searching.
Anway, take those PPG codes to a paint shop and see what they can do.
