Has anyone found a "tire shine" type of tire dressing that does not smear black over raised white letters?

I've been using Eagle 1 Wet Tire Shine, and it smears black over my raised whites.

I clean the tires with Westley's Bleche White, and the raised whites come out blindingly white. Then I apply the Eagle 1, and it smears black across my whites. They even look like s**t after I wipe them down with a clean rag.

If the tire is clean, (and it is clean, trust me) and the Eagle 1 is clear...
Where the hell is the black coming from that is f'ing up my beautiful raised whites?

had this problem cleaning my dads explorer

try some bleech white or whatever cleaner you are using on a rag and just rub the letters after applying the dressing.

i got it to work good

 

Meguire's Tire Gel won't give you that problem.

 

I've found Black Magic to be great. I have white letter BFGoodrich radial T/A's and don't run into that problem at all. I use the Westley's Bleche-White to get them looking brand new, and then use Black Magic to give them that sought after "wet-look". It's really easy too, you just spray it right on and let it dry. Any runs, drips, etc take care of themself when it dries (in like 2 minutes). Both of these products are actually made by the same company.

 

And for those of you who are'nt aware of them, get the EagleOne sponge applicators. One of the best detailing items ever made imho.

I use the Eagle 1 Wet and Shine and the Eagle 1 applicators to put it on. I have tried a bunch of different products and as far as a high gloss shine goes Eagle 1 is the best. Yes it is messy but just take a rag and run it over your whitewalls and it comes right off.

 

When I washed and waxed my car today I decided to give the Eagle 1 Wet Tire Shine one more chance. (I really do like the shine and the durability of this product)

So when it came time do do the tires, I cleaned them with the Westley's, and then I just sprayed the Eagle 1 on instead of using the sponge applicators. After letting the tires dry I had shiny black tires and blindingly white raised whites.

It's a shame because I really do like the sponge applicators, if I ever again have a car running blackwalls I will most definitely be using them.

I asked myself this same question. I was going to buy tire shine stuff but my father introduced me to Meguiar's Natural Shine vinvyl & rubber protectant. this stuff works great. I use it for anything that i want to shine. My grill was all fader and i put some on that looks like brand new. My front bumper was looking fader rubbed some on that looks like new and I even started putting it on my GFX man does it shine. Works awesome on tires to not to wet but not to dry I love it. the list goes on and on its worth trying it out trust me I love this stuff.
