I don't know if anyone hit this one yet for the worst,,, but,,
purple, bubbly, half peeling off but left on anyways, can't see thru any window, do-it-yourself window tint and those el-cheapo tinted "Heartbeat of,,", "Camaro", or "Pontiac" vinyl static stick windshield visors from the same place the window tint came from.

the worst thing that you can do to a third generation firebird/ trans am is put the giant decal on the hood. it would be one thing if it was a factory decal, but it is another when you use an aftermarket one where the head is facing the other way and the wings are not the same

Likes: Any appearance mod that is a result of a functional enhancement, such as a cowl hood to fit a blower or at least to cool underhood temps. Lowering the car for better handling. I also don't mind mods for the sake of appearance as long as they're subtle. To me, the best appearance mods are ones that envoke simplicity and do no more than highlight the car's good lines, not change them. Guys spend countless hours rewelding mounts onto body panels so that the body gaps are perfectly spaced. Doors that are straight enough to look fake. Paint that's so perfect and smooth that you can pick crap out of your teeth in the reflection. An interior that may not be stock, but the additons are done as if GM had done it.
dislikes:Anything that changes the appearance of the car for no other purpose. Most hoods. Most spoilers. Most decals. Any body kits or non factory ground effects. Chrome or stainless fender trim (although -- I did see a Mercury Grand Marquis that had them, and I must admit that on that car, which was driven by an older gentleman, they did look nice in an old guy sort of way). Wheels that stick out farther than necessary. Tires that don't fit the rim properly and are not the original height (drag meats don't count if the car NEEDS them) etc. You get my point.
Another dislike: Paint chips. Rag on me all you want for my barely noticable mud flaps, but I'll be damned if I'm going to spend months prepping and painting the body just so I can spend a half hour every week dobbing paint on stone chips. As it is the car is getting them and it's driving me crazy.

I think this world is blessed to have people w/ different taste, and that is what makes it interesting. You should do what you like and if you like that is enough.
Alot of people talk about original, but most of mods that people do are becuase they first saw it somewhere, so don't bash people for doing stuff becuase you might like some of them and do it yourself.
As for best mods. Lets be real. Most people on this board bash Handas (acuras, and probably Supras) and their mods but those mods are meant for those type of cars. I do agree some people do mods that do not go with the car but as for Hondas, those mods go right.
The cars look better, and even if the car is still a 1.5, 1.6, or 2.0, you have accept they look mean, and sound nice. Stickers is just taste.
No one ever critice trucks and their mods becuase they are for trucks, same for Hondas. I just wish people laid back.
F-bodies are beautiful cars, and I think keeping them factory is good choice, but then again some stuff just makes it nice. I mean if you saw a 92Z lowered, convertibe, and going 90 with neons under, be hones, it make you look twice, and their be no way in hell you catch up cause he/she be gone.
So, people do your mods, and show them. Cause, I am sure to run into some mods that I'll love to do myself
---------------
92rs, T-Tops, v8, 305 (all stock, except for sound).
Nope! I meant nice (when done in taste).
The bottom line is: body kyts, and other mods are done with a specific car in mind, and when applied to those cars they look good. The problem is when people apply things not meant for it. So I do agree that some stuff should be left for Hondas and such ; however, I do not agree with the bashing on the Hondas, they are good cars (if you are a real car lover, you have to appriciate the quality, long lasting and dependable cars they are). So yes, leave some stuff for Hondas, but do modify is wish your car withing taste.
Anyone saw 'The fast and Furious' movie. You are lying if you say that all those cars were lame.
The Mazda Rx7 was fantastic as was the Eclipse and Supra, and as for the 3 little Civics that Could, you have to give some credit, they were mod with taste and performance.
And, yes I do know that they were not going that fast, becuase what they do is speed up the frames (as in Gone in 60secs), but still good work on the cars

OMG... you did not just spell "kits" as k-y-t-s That's... wow...
It's kinda like "Motley Crue" and people who spell "cool" as k-e-w-l...
No flame intended, it's just so originally ghetto I don't know where to start...

Sounds like a lot of people here think my car looks like a$$. I have 4" chrome tips on my car. But it was either that or put 3" tips on which would restrict my exhaust very badly considering its 4" all the way from the headers. I have stickers on my car I have two IROC-Z stickers one on each door because my car is an IROC. I also have a small "High Tech Racing" sticker on my back windshield because High-Tech has done all of the performance work to get my car into the 12's and I figured I would help them out a bit with some free advertisment since they are always there to help me. I also have a 2" TFBM sticker on each side of my rear window because I am a member of the Toronto F-body Motorsports club and it shows club support. My interior plastics I painted from grey to black because I couldn't afford the money to replace them all with original black pieces plus you can't even tell they were painted by looking at them because I worked my *** off all winter to do the best job I could. Big tires. I don't have them yet but I will NEED big tires on the back to get traction. I keep pulling 2.2-2.4 sixy foot times with my little 225/60/16s and some 315/40/17 would help me get my power to the pavement. Mabey I should just put some rims on my car and dump TONS of money into appearance mods. Of course then wouldn't that be considered "All show and no go?" Personally thats what I hate is thirdgens that are all show and no go. They make us all look bad every time to pull up to a light against a stang and get there asses handed over to them with there high 14 second timeslips.

Rather than referring to them as “best” and “worst” appearance mods, I’m going to call them my “favorite” and “least favorite”. That just makes them my opinion, and if I dislike something you like, well that just makes us individuals.
These all pertain to the thirdgen Camaro;
Least Favorites
Wings of any kind (even the wing on the ‘91-’92 Z28 is too much for me)
Testarossa body kits (or any body kit for the most part)
Daytona and Ram Air hoods
Any wheel under 15” or over 17”
Tires that stick out past the fenders
Suspension drops of more than 2”
Raising the rear of the car any amount over stock
Excessive use of manufactures decals
Contrasting color racing stripes
Those come to mind right away but I’m sure there are many more.
Favorites
Cowl Induction hoods (2 ½” max, unless function requires it be higher)
Tasteful Wheels between 15” and 17” (personal favorite: solid disk aluminum i.e. Centerline Autodrag)
Raised white letter tires (on any model below an RS, Blackwalls only on RS and above)
Racing Stripes (note the plural, if you must have a single stripe it has to be wide and centered)
Blackouts (all the way around)
Most of my "favorites" are Old School touches, there are some modern styling cues that I like, but these are the ones I like most.
------------------
'86 Camaro SC 2.8 V6, 5spd, T-Tops
Mods:
(Performance)
Flowmaster cat back exhaust
(Non-Performance)
Pioneer DEH-P4000 head unit
Pioneer 6X9 Tri-Ax speakers
Jensen 8" dual voice coil sub
Blacked out tail lights and side markers (VHT
Nightshades spray tint)

To my "Least Favorite" list I forgot to add Bras.
Bras are pure evil on a car; no car should ever have its nose covered with a bra for any reason what so ever! I would rather hang my head in shame as I display a damaged front end, than cover it with a bra.
Bras have their place, but they are not on the front of a car.
