need some motivation
I need some motivation… I’ve run out of funding to finish my engine bay, and altogether took on a project that was just way over my head… :-( I fell like my car will never run again…

Re: need some motivation
take a break, and cool off. Alot of times when into a large project, i get discouraged and feel the same way thinking, "im in over my head", this is soo much more work than i though", and it can seem that you work and work and work for weeks/months and nothing seems to have changed. But give it time, move onto some small detail projects, take some parts, clean them up and paint them, some small simple project that will get you thinking positive again, then attack the engine bay again.
Post some pics for us too, is good to see what your doing and for other people to see as well, maybe some before and after pics if you have them so we can see the improvement, some kind words from other people on your progress can really help boost your feelings on a job like this.

Re: need some motivation
i think the biggest thing you can do is try not to feel like you have to get it done NOW just take your time with it make sure its done right you will feel a lot better about it. weve all been there and funding is always a problem thats where you let your creativity kick in and brainstorm some ideas that will make your car different than everyone elses good luck man im sure you wont give up on your baby

Re: need some motivation
I think you need to adjust your completion date. Keep you eye on the prize but give yourself some down time to do something else for a while. Come back to the car later. Step back for a bit and it will change your focus.
My car sat in a garage for 8 years while I worked on the house. Currently, I have another engine to go in, no time to pull the old motor out, no interior and have been collection NOS interior parts for the last 18 months. By the tme I put everything back together I will not have drivin the car for over 10 years

Re: need some motivation
excellent work on the engine bay i wish i did that to mine before i dropped in my motor.
another thing is the engine itself...
i want that dress up kit you have soooo badly..
i agree with you. i just cant stand the chrome anymore.. EVERYONE has it now adays.
and when i saw that kit i fell in love with it... too bad i cant find that kit for center bolt valve covers...
but anywhoo.
ill tell you this... when you drop blood sweat and tears into ANYTHING you do, and it gets done no matter how long it took, the sense of accomplishing something that few people can do is very rewarding.
makes you feel good about yourself.
dont give up.
i promise you will have a smile from ear to ear when your baby is done and be glad that you did not rush through it and it came out right!!!
always keep a clear head. dont let it get to you because thats when mistakes are made.
keep up the good work.
