Stock IROC-Z or Custom????? HELP!

I am thinking about painting my iroc 2 tone black and tangerine candy orange by house of kolor. I am able to paint it what ever i want since i am currently in auto body classes and i have all materials availible. I just cant decided if i want to keep it solid red or the 2 tone. Either way i am getting the hawks 5" spoiler and possibly a cowl hood. I really just cant decide and i would like to have some opinions about the subject. So all opinions are welcome. Help me out.

Re: Stock IROC-Z or Custom????? HELP!

Wow, it looks like I'm the only one to vote stock so far. I like things looking stock and having things like big honk'n brakes a beefy suspension and a huge motor tucked away waiting to scare the poop out of anyone close enough... in other words, I LOVE the sleeper look.

Re: Stock IROC-Z or Custom????? HELP!

Is that your car on the botom pic?, if so id keep it like that. Stock is easier to touch up if damage occurs. Also will it be your DD or weekend car?
I say stock for a DD all Tangerine for a weekend car.

I voted 2-tone, but tweak it some...There's already 1 with like that. Switch the 2 colors or lay in some kind of pattern somehow.. Something to be different from that car.

I say make it the best red stock out there. Either way it will look good but I prefer the stock IROCS. Your car so have fun with it.

Re: Stock IROC-Z or Custom????? HELP!

Thats a hard one!!! But think of it as do you want to stand out or blend in. Stocks are very cool, but nowadays thats what most are doing. Now custom is cool too because you get to be creative and one of a kind. What the heck go custom,, you might end up on some magazine,, make us proud dude!!!

my dad put some gas in it for me last night and seeing that car coming down the street with the parking lights on reminded me of the commercials and it was BAD. I like the red iroc convertable with the ss hood on it. I have thought about putting an ss hood on it and the 5" spoiler. Then just keeping the rest basically stock.

To me i like the modern style but its like i have always wanted an iroc so why change the car that i have always wanted and make it so that it looks like just a camaro with nice paint. I think stocks gonna win this one.

Re: Stock IROC-Z or Custom????? HELP!

From what I see on the roads, a CLEAN stock 3rd gen really does stand out the same as a custom one.

And you're already talking of a 5" spoiler and possible cowl hood (hope you have an engine to back it up ). Get some wheels (like the one you posted) and that's a sweet lookin ride IMHO.

I vote stockish.

Re: Stock IROC-Z or Custom????? HELP!

I like that 2 tone scheme and the others like it that I've seen. The 5" spoiler is hot but I would stick with the 91/2 hood rather than the cowl. Ditch the 86 rear hatch and switch to an 87 up to lose the high mounted stop light. Personally, a different lower color than the tangerine would be my preference but it's your car.

Keep us posted!

I think it is a good thing sometimes. This way lost or forgotten information or even interesting cars are bumped. It also keeps duplicate threads from being made. Not that it matters as many threads as there are already.
