Water Spots from Hell...Help Please!!!

I had left my 91 Z28 out in front of my parents house while I was away and when I came back i noticed that there was alot of water spots all over the the hood and the entire right side of the body, I figure a good car wash and wax will get rid of them...nope, come to find out that not only were they staind, but they pretty much got cooked into the clear coat! I have tried alot of things to get them out, is there any way to remove these damn spots without having to do an entire re-clear coat?

you can try doing something simple and get some detail spray and see if that takes it off if not....id get some light duty polish and start buffing

Sounds like acid rain. You may have to lightly sand before buffing.

I've removed acid rain marks several times. Every time they looked like water spots but you could feel them and nothing would taken them away. I started by buffing but that usually wasn't enought. A little sanding and they went away pretty easy. Each time this was on a new vehicle with factory paint.

Get some "Wizards" detail spray and a clay bar and rub one out...

Re: Water Spots from Hell...Help Please!!!

if they are water spots, try mixing 50/50 of water and vinegar, let the car sit in the sun to get hot, spray the area and wipe off

Have you ever used a professional automotive clay bar? Not the cheapie you get at the auto parts store, but a 3M clay compound bar you get at an auto paint supplier?
