Re: carbon fiber iroc louvers?
Honestly, i've not even seen them in fiberglass yet or something more stable than that 80's plastic they came in. Good luck on finding CF.

Re: carbon fiber iroc louvers?
Cheaper to have them done in that water soluable printing stuff that all the ricers use for fake carbon parts.

Re: carbon fiber iroc louvers?
Get with a local place that does carbon fiber and have them make ya a set.
Try http://www.s2carbonworks.com/ for local. I've seen his stuff in person, and it's nice. I even got a quote on getting something done....
Pricing seemed reasonable, but don't expect less than $150.

Re: carbon fiber iroc louvers?
did a good job, but its definatly not as good as the stuff i have not to put it down or anything. but with mine it actually has a texture and weave to it, also has that carbon fiber shimmer as the light goes over

Re: carbon fiber iroc louvers?
There are several different versions of CF patteen out there (as well as colored versions).
Quite frankly, I don't like the pattern version you chose. I chose what *I* like for *MY* car. You chose what *YOU* like for *YOUR* car. Just a difference in opinions man. No need to start any insulting or putting things down.
Signs (electrical, neon, lettering & vinyl) have been my thing for about 10 years now. Vinyl is nothing new to me & honestly? You'd be surprised at what is out there to be made. Shoulda gotten the air bubbles out better. Those are what gave it away as "fake CF" to me.

Re: carbon fiber iroc louvers?
Any local sign shop can get it for you, but you'll pay a small mark-up for buying it from them.
Look in your local area for "sign supply" or "sign vinyl"....Something along those lines. I buy my vinyls (CF or otherwise) directly from the supply warehouse.

Re: carbon fiber iroc louvers?
Carbon Fiber Louvers....why? Seems like it would be a great waste of money. You usually want carbon in places where you'd like to save weight. The last time I checked, louvers don't weigh too much. In regards to the fake carbon...again..why? Waste of time sitting there and cutting fake tape that looks like carbon fiber. If you'd really like to go nuts, get a carbon fiber hood...that is the way to go!

Re: carbon fiber iroc louvers?
well, in most cars CF is used as an aesthetic component rather than a weight saving component. Most of the carbon parts you buy are not 100$ CF cores they are usually fiberglas corres with a CF top layer and epoxy coating. Purely aesthetic.
Structural lightweight CF components costs a lot more than these aesthetic ones.
CF looks good, better than sun burnt black plastic.
I'm willing to bet those carbon fiber hoods are fiberglass cores too.

Re: carbon fiber iroc louvers?
This is exactly my point. Carbon fiber parts have become a 'cheap fad'. It is so played out...especially the fake shitt. If you are going to do CF, might as well do it right...like the Jap CF hood. Believe me, I would love to have some CF parts (fenders, doors, hood, decklid) for our cars, but they would be bloody expensive for the real stuff.
Problem with fake CF is people know it's fake (ie cheap). Member

Re: carbon fiber iroc louvers?
its not a louver but just inserts......but you could use the same carbon fiber material to make a whole louver.
