B&M Hammer Shifter????

Did a search and couldnt find any info...just wondering what everyone thought about the B&M Hammer shifter...how easy to install?

http://www.bmracing.com/noflash/prod...to/hammer.html

I was going to go with the megashifter.....because I like the fact that it'll go in the console like the stock shifter...but i HATE that crappy looking boot.....I THINK the hammer has a leather boot...but not sure on that one.....however...its not a console made shifter....but says base can be trimmed to fit any floor....just wondering if anyone has done it...and how it looks......if not then I guess I'll go with the megashifter......anyway to change the boot to a leather one????

I would get the Megashifter, then get some leather, sew it together on a machine, then attach it to the console plate. Then you can get the B&M Hammer T-handle and replace the megashifter one with it. I think it would look awesome. It would look cool if you found some leather that matches your interior. My interior is grey, so that's what I would do. I must agree, that boot is ugly...now I want to get a leather boot for my Megashifter.

Yeah I was thinking about that same exact thing...but I wasnt sure how doable it was....I BELIEVE the 4th gen automatics use a leather boot...I know for sure the Corvette Automatics use leather boots...I was thinking I could just use one of those...but I have no clue how it mounts on the bottom of the shifter....and how it mounts on the shaft of the shifter.....do you think the Corvette leather boot would work?

The point is, that it's going to take some modification no matter what you do...

I'm not familiar with the Corvette boot, but you basically need a leather boot that will fit B&Ms metal console plate, and you will need to find someway to attach it to the mount on the the shifter shaft. I could probably do something like that in a couple days, but then again I should just go to my Mom's house and have her make me a boot out of some leather...
