C6 wheels on 91 formula

just bought a set of 18/19 C6 corvette rims for my car and 2" inch spacers so they would fit...turns out the 19s are too big for the rear so i bolted the other 18 on in the rear, let me know what you think. note:the suspension isnt settled in yet. i have the rims for sale or trade if anyone is interested also would be interested in trading the two 19s for two more 18s

Re: C6 wheels on 91 formula

wow that car sits HIGH. settled in yet or not i'm not sure its gonna drop that much

either way those rims look great on these cars

Oh and i have seen 19's on two other formulas no problem with no fitting issues. I have the 19's on my camaro no problems. Not sure what you encountered, could you explain abit more? the 19's on these cars need 2.5" spacers on the rear.

18's all around look great tho

Re: C6 wheels on 91 formula

so they would hit the inside wheel well correct? 2" will not be enough to space them out far enough to fit on a 3rd gen rear.

I have a wider 4th gen rear and still needed .625" spacers

my car is lowered alittle. stock 4th gen rear being almost 2" wider than thirdgen still wasnt enough to fit the 295 19's. needed a slip on spacer

Re: C6 wheels on 91 formula

Since you asked for opinions.....Me no likey.

I don't like the vette wheels even on Vettes. Or rather...The FWD-style build of them. RWD cars should have wheels with a lp around the spokes.

As an example, these. The "spokes" aren't flush wuth the outer edge......

dude have you once even lifted your 3rd gen with a jack? if you have, then you would realize the suspension sits cocked in a negative camber position until the wheels roll to allow it to level out. i can imagine this being even worse if you lifted just one side of the car

ANYWAY..

those wheels look awesome on the car, take more pictures!!! please!

I managed to have 2" spacers all the way around on a stock rear. Plus my car is lowered.

I like your formula but I really don't care for the look of these big wheels unless you are going to fill up the gap. It is really nice to see someone with silver painted wheels for once. I have had people ask me to strip and polish them but I say no way. Painted is so much easier to take care of and I like them better.

I dont care how negative cambered it becomes upon lifting it, that car sits extremely high. And yes I have lifted my car on the jack, and for the record, my car doesnt do that to that extreme when i lift mine on the jack. The rear shouldnt be that high as it doesnt move independently like the fronts. Almost like the rear springs are out of pocket and not in the groove

Just my opinion, that car sits high and needs to be lowered to make those rims look even better

What modifications do you exactly need? Also how far do you plan on lowering it? I have zero modifications done to the fender with a 1.75 inch drop with Eibach springs. Unless there is a that big of difference between the camaro and formula. Also for your information the eibach makes it quite a bit of a rougher ride on rough roads but the handling is improved. I have heard from others that others are better though I can't think of what they are.

Re: C6 wheels on 91 formula

I like the look of the c6s on your bird. I have 19s on a 4thgen axle on my 'vert and still needed a spacer. But once I had the spacer all I had to do was roll the fenderlip.

So many people are getting the c6s I think I might need new wheels!

Not to nitpick but on the front you'd get positive camber from lifting the front end off the ground.

There's the problem....Roll/drive it 50 feet forward, 50 feet back. It'll settle.

Couldn't you just cut the springs?

P.S. Love the wheels.

I know exactly who you bought the car from. Those c6 wheels look much better than the chrome c5 z06 wheels he had on there before. Also leave them the color they are, they go nicely with the color of the decals.

Re: C6 wheels on 91 formula

It looks like it sits really high, but I think its because he does not have ground fx . Contact Andris Skulte www.skulte.com for a custom hub rather than spacers. I got some from him for my C5 wagon wheels, and had no problems with the rears rubbin (the fronts were a bit big though) . He is a member on here, I am sure he has the same rims on his IROC, so you should ask him about it.
