From Hard Top to T-Top?

Personally i like the look of t-tops and the semi convertable effect is pretty cool... I could never purchase a convertable for several reasons... anyhow, I was in such a hurry when I got my third gen, I bought what was available... an '84 hard top T/A... so my question is here: how expensive would it be to get cutouts in the roof, appropriate weather stripping laid down and T-Tops installed? This is mostly hypothetical since I don't have an acetylene torch or the money to pay someone to do it...

1984 Firebird T/A - Daily driver
305 LG4, T5 - Hurst Short Shifter
Edelbrock 600 CFM Performer Carb
Open Element Air Filter
Gutted Cat... missing stuff I'll need next year
IROC 16x8 Wheels
Goodyear P215/60/R16 87S - S stands for suck
(but I'm a cheap *** and I don't go 112... don't think I do...)

Just get a new car, because its gonna be expensive however you do it. Best way would be to cut the roof off a T-Top car and stick it on yours.

------------------
1992 Pontiac Firebird
- 305ci V8 TBI / Automatic Trans / Loaded
- MODS: Edelbrock 14x3 Open Element Air Cleaner, Dual outlet exhaust
1985 Chevy Z28
- 350ci V8 TPI / Automatic Trans / Paid $200 for it
- In the process of restoration!

one eyed jack is totally correct, the painter for the body shop i work for, did this a few years back to a 91Z 350 it was in a storm where the roof of the barn fell on the car, so he went to the junk yard and picked up a section off a ttop car and welded it in. it looked original and great. that is the only REAL way to get this done, other wise you will be looking at alot of hassles. you will be better off selling your car infavor for a ttop car.
