big firebird on the hood

I found a place on the net that offers decals for formula's, they had one of a huge firebird like the ones you use to see on the old TA, I thought it would be bad a*ss putting it on my hood, I wanted to get a gold to go with my maroon 88 formula, how do you guys think that would look? im concerened that it will damage my paint? do you think it would be a good idea to put one on?

I have seen it done before, and to tell you the truth, it totally doesn't look all that good on a thirdgen. Really, we have all this crap on our hoods (mostly the TA) but we Formulads have that tear-drop we have to worry about. It would look ok, I guess if you could get the one they had for the turbo 4.9 T/A, those cars had the same hood as us, and it still has a hood bird. Did you ever think to get the 15th anniversary T/A hood decal set? If someone has a 84 T/A with those, post a pic. Again, no flames, I was just giving my input like he asked. Don't call it rice either...

thanks for the input, I might just get this decal for the tear drop hood scoop, it looks pretty good with lines going all the way down tappered, with a small firebird at the top, I think that would look sweet, how about that guys?

They can look good, I've seen a few that look decent. But gold on maroon may look a bit funky though IMO. I always liked the ones on the older TA's with all the feathered wings better than the ones that are basically just big version of the sail panel birds...
