In case you're looking for the tips.

The fourthgen in the pic doesn't suit my tastes, but on a thirdgen with a more square butt, they might look pretty cool.

Post #13 in the following link (and I'm sure there are probably others as well):

I wouldnt say they look horrible...more "different" than anything...and they fit the style of my car perfect. I think they fit the 91-92's just right..do to the more squared off rear bumper.

Re: 4th gen tips on 3rd gen irocs

i like the looks of dual pipes in back but why do we do it?
we run a single 3 inch exhaust pipe back to a muffler then we pretend its dual exhaust by putting dual pipes back there?
why not just keep it one pipe with a single muffler and one hidden exhaust pipe?

Its not about "pretending" anything. Its about looks, balance & symmetry.

I ran a single tip, straight back on the passenger, on my 92. It may have flowed a hair better, due to the lack of a crossflow muffler & less turns/bends in the pipe, but it just didn't look right.

i think the square tips molded into the rear bumper would look great.

i understand the symmetry point, but if no one can see any tips, why does it matter, performance wise, if your single 3 inch pipe goes into a single muffler only to come out with 2 exhaust pipes from that single muffler. it does not appear to help the flow at all. and if the pipe is not visible then you have symmetry.
but does it effect performance?
to have one muffler with a dump right out, or a muffler where the exhaust has to flow back and forth to get to the second exhaust pipe.
i see that you did the same thing as i was thinking about. just goes to show that nothing i do is original.

If it was me I would cut a opening in the rear bumper to put them through

Re: 4th gen tips on 3rd gen irocs

i love the square tips... i was planning on running them on my iroc. Also i think we put duals because first the older muscle cars had them and so the mid 80s muscle cars should to. And another big point is the sound. If its only one pipe or the pipes are side by side it sounds bad IMO. With the exhaust tips farther apart the sound is AWESOME!

I have seen them on a few cars mainly Z28s and Irocs, and they looked awesome like they were supposed to be there.

Re: 4th gen tips on 3rd gen irocs

They kinda make me think of the end of a vacuum SOMETIMES but so times they just look damn sweet. I think having them coming out of the back bumper would look awesome.
