steel wool will take off those blotches on the clear. and just get some wheel cleaner and let is sit on there while you mit your car (spray the wheels first when you start washing) and then spray it off near the end, and wipe down the rim with a cloth, this should keep it clean.

I find that Quicksilver II wheel cleaner works great, plus some kind of brush that can get in the small spaces.

If your rims are clear coated, and you use Zaino, Z2 does wonders on the shine.

Has anyone ever tried cleaning the inside of the wheels? You know, where there is 10 years of brake dust and dirt caked on. I found the most toxic stuff I could(No contact with skin, use in a ventilated area, etc.) and sprayed it on and let it soak for a couple of hours and brushed it off, it helped a lot, but they're a long way from clean. I did this when I was buying new tires, so I wasn't worried about the old ones. I don't think it even possible to get them clean anymore.

Don't mean to make this sound too easy, but Turtle wax wheel polish will take it off in a heartbeat. I never thought my wheels could look so good.
for the guy who wanted the back of the rims cleaned.I did mine and used the P21S and then polished them for about 3 days with mothers. The trick now is keeping the dust from building back up which involves taking them off once a month and cleaning the backs.
