blackout-ing and tinting

Does anyone have a picture of a Black firebird(or camaro) with blacked out lights and tinted windows.

Which type of tint is the best and do most body shops install it?
How much tint would allow you to see outside fine but people can definitely tell that you tinted your windows.

Thanks.

man i wish i had a pic. i have a blacked out 89rs camaro. i went with %20 tint all the way around. in the day all you see are shadows and night you cant see in. you can see out perfect though. %35 is legal in memphis but anything under that is illegal. btw, 3M tint is the best. i ordered a complete set of gts blackouts from jegs for around $100, wich isnt bad. they really make my car look good. but i also have iroc rims, grill, and foglights too. i will post a pic sometime this weekend for you. i have to get a pic scanned at walgreens to put on here.

That firebird looks like it belongs in the hood. All black, all over? Thats a little extreme isnt it?

No, all black all over is the sweetest looking you can get. My 1990 Firebird is black on black w/ tinted windows, side markers, custom clear and blacked out front turn signals, Nightshade blacked out tail lights (and I am going to get a set of GTS blackouts to use on another set of tail lights). W/ no emblems on the car and after the car has been washed it is absolutely stunning...

3M is the best company for tinting. Most other tints will begin to turn purple and blue after a while. I have blackouts on my camaro with the chevy bow-tie on em, i cant post pics because i dont have a camera for the computer.

sorry, don't live in the hood. but i agree with the other guys. i don't think anything looks better than an imaccualate black third gen. i am sure if you you saw it in person you would agree. but i don't think its extreme. actualy i am contemplating tinting the windows too, i think that would look amazing too!

I can't remember what the tint % is on my car, maybe 25 or something, which ever is the next darkest shade beyond what is legal in ohio, but I think it is perfect for not messing up my vision at night and looking good.

On the back window I have pretty much the darkest tint u can get!! It is how ever hard to see out of at night but in the day its ok!! I went as dark a possible so no one can see in the hatch during day or night from outside the car!! On the side windows i went with a light tint just to finsh off the look!!

Used some Sh** called goo gone available at Brooks, CVS, Osco, Eckard etc. About $5 for a bottle. Gets rid of all the gummy stuff.

QUESTION: IF I USE THE FRONT BLACKOUTS CAN I LEAVE THEM ON AT NIGHT AND STILL USE MY HEADLIGHTS? I AM STILL DEBATING THIS BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO TO BE REMOVING THEM EVERYDAY. I WOULD RATHER SCREW THEM IN AND LEAVE THEM.

HEY COME BRING UP OLD TOPICS TO BITCH ME OUT IN CAPS!

I think blackouts are stupid.

Yeah lets hide our tail lights so people don't know when we're braking in the day time! SMASH! oops I just got rear ended! Or I'm turning around this corner, but they dont know which way! OOPS SMASH I just got blindsided!

Dumbass.

i have headlight and tailight blackouts. for the headlights, it's not too bad. the only time i have a problem is when i'm on a small dark back road and someone is coming the other way that has bright lights. for the tailights, jack, get a clue, then maybe we'll listen to you. even with the tailight covers, you can still see the brake lights and signal lights perfectly fine.

Called the rhode island DMV and inquired about blackouts.

they said i basically need 2 red reflectors in the back so someone can see me if they are behind me?

if someone shined their headlights on my back end, would they just see black, or would my car reflect the red color?

i wanna get some blackouts soon, they look sweet but i dont want to get a ticket or anything!
