Possibly get DRLs but wire them to the parking lights rather than high beams??

Re: Camaro Parking Light Question? Help!
What do you mean by DRLs and wire them to the parking lights? Im not sure what you are trying to tell me.
What I want to figure out is when the car is on the parking lights turn on automatically like the 4th gens and there nice and bright like when you have the blinkers on. Like hen you pull the headlight switch in the middle they turn on but there not as bright though, I want them to be bright like when you are having the turn signal on.
Thanks. Tony.

Re: Camaro Parking Light Question? Help!
The canadian cars from like 1991 on had Daytime Running Lights (DRL) which made the high beams turn on whenever you drive (reduced power but still high beam). If you could install that you may also find a way in the wiring diagrams to have the parking lights used for that function instead of the high beams. Take some reading but it sounds possible.

Man I havent had time to try my idea out I was thinking what if I get a brighter bulb or so? I wonder if the ones that some on the 4th gen's might work on our cars?

Re: Camaro Parking Light Question? Help!
I was going to PM you and see if you found a solution. Heres what i think is going on. I just have to see lol. The parking lamp bulb in our cars has 2 elements. When you turn the blinker on in the day only 1 element lights up. When you turn the blinker on at night 2 elements light up. So in the day its not as bright as it would be at night. Now that I understand little more what you would like to do its gonna be pretty easy to wire the circuit let me check the lights on mine and I will draw or write what to wire for you on your car.

Here's a site where the author did this to his '75 Duster. Complete with step-by-step instructions. All you would have to do is figure out the wire color for the GM circuits in question.

And this is the module he used.

Re: Camaro Parking Light Question? Help!
Okay so I looked at the parking lights in question today. Now i understand what you would like to accomplish. It works out to be switching the wire that goes to the parking element with the wire that goes to the turn signal element. And then figuring out which wire or wires are coming off the headlight switch for the parking lights in the front and running them to an ignition on power source.

Re: Camaro Parking Light Question? Help!
Hey bro, all I want besically is to have the parking lights way brighter. I dont mind pulling the headlight switch that doesent bother me at all. Like if you put a 3rd gen and a 4th gen together and have the parking lights both on you'll notice that the ones on the 4th gen are way brighter then the ones on the 3rd gens. I just want them to be more bright and more orange and more visable.
Thanks. Tony.

I have not done this, but looks pretty easy as far as wiring goes. Contact info for acquiring this is in the second link in my first post.

Re: Camaro Parking Light Question? Help!
I like this idea. I don't care so much for having DRL's, but I do like the idea of having the running lights run on the dual filaments and blinking to the single or no filament when the turn signal is activated. is there a way to have the DRL module only turn on when the light switch is in the running light selection? I'd like to have the dual filaments lit with the tail lights.
