Ok, I'm ready to buy zr1 wheels, and I know exactly which adaptors I need, but how do they mount onto the car? I would think that if I used normal lug nuts they would hit the wheels when I bolt them on, so what nuts do I use? Do they come with nuts, for 300 bucks I would hope so, but who knows?

The wheels have a hole in the back of them so the lugnuts used to hold the spacers on will not get in the way.

BTW, did you get chrome or silver?

oops, missed the last questions

I went to a tire place and found some chrome lugnuts for 1$ a piece. Not great deal... but they were the only ones that had a wider base. The others I found almost slipped through the wheel.

They come with 20 Lugnuts, for the spacers to bolt on.... you have to buy the other 20.

WOO HOO, I just got my ZR1 wheels and now am waiting for my adapters to come to me. They were out of stock of them like Friday so i would put an order in right away so when they have some you will get them!

 

nope, the car is going into storage in only a couple of months so I am in no hurry to put them on. I think I will ask for them for christmas. I still need tires too. My wheels will be 17x9, will the 275 /40/17s fit fine? Where is a good place to buy them?

 

275/40/17 is what I'm running. Keeps the speedo the same as if you had 16" wheels.

As for the spacers, 2.25" front, and 1.5" in the rear. There was a discussion about what size spacers was needed on the body and interior board. Another guy with ZR1 wheels used a smaller spacer. Might want to check that out.

800... good deal. Used or new? What's on the centercap?

New wheels, corvette logo on the center cap..they are gm wheels. I actually got them on ebay with the buy now feature. I will look at your site and check out the way your wheels fit your car. Are you happy with the fit? doesn't stick out too much? Did you remove the factory spacers?

 

Happy with the fit? It's almost exactly the same as stock. Me and a friend compared them. I think my front stick out slighty more than his. Umm.. factory spacers?

That's cool if it is almost the same as stock. My rear wheels have about 1/4 inch or less spacers. I just assumed it was factory. So I will go with the recommended size if you are saying that really, it looks no different than stock (unless you actually measure or compare with another 3rd gen.) I just wanted to make sure that they didn't look odd on the car.

 

I got my wheels off ebay too, 1145 for silver 17x9.5 with kuhmo tires, the tread pattern is really cool looken and should help when it starts to rain. I just cant wait till I get my adapters.

 

That's the tires I'm using ben. At tirerack.com its around 520-550$ dollars for some 275/40/17s Work great in the ran. On my old tires at most any given time in the ran, I could floor it and be all over the road. These things hook great in the rain.. hook pretty good on dry road too.

As for the wheel spacers... I could be wrong, but I don't believe it should have any. If they are in the front, it's posssible someone bought them because they got tired of it hitting the fenderwell (I believe). I know they came from the factory doing that.

Mine are only in the back. Kumho tires? I saw them, are they the zr tires.

 

Exactly which kumho tires do you have?

 

I have kumho Ecsta 712. I dont know how well they hook up yet because i cant put them on my car till i get my adapters. The only problem is that they are directional, so you just have to be careful when mounting them.

 

same ones I have I believe. Whatever the cheapest was.
